case oil?

a buddy of myne had his motor re built and he smoked the trans like a week later they told him he didnt get oil in to some place in the case i read in my manual to put 1.8 quarts so i am gonna do that any thing i need to do other than pour it in?

you put 1.8 in there the first time you put tranny fluid in there (should do it at the dealership)and when you change it again put 1.6

I just changed my oil last night and put 1.5 quarts in. The oil reads halfway up the dipstick instead of at the bottom where the marks are, is this normal?

check it today, this oil might not have gotten through all of the passage ways and fully into the tranny. so thats why youd have the unusually high reading

as long as its in the checks....if there getting close to bottem i would adds some or just change it

A lot of guys run 2 full quarts. This has supposedly been found

to reduce the possibility of the ball and rod welding together on

your clutch throwout, which can occur if you downshift too far

for the speed you going, with the clutch pulled in. Like if you

were flying along in 6th, pulled in the clutch and downshifted to

2nd or first while your still doing 80.

1.5quarts min. 2quarts max.

I'm with Banshee04le on this one. I always have put in 2 full quarts. I don't have time to measure out .7 of a quart. I'm a busy guy!!!!! So I just put the whole damn thing in. Haven't had any problems in almost 6 years. Well, 4.5 years of service
