tr-6 Jetting

Recommended Posts

Ok I just put some tr 6's on my buddies 04 and it does not seem right. He has .30 milled head v force reeds and +4 advanced timing with the needles that toomey sent on 3rd clip and 330 mains stock pilots and 1.5 turns on the air screw. I did some searching on here and everybody seems to be saying that the t6 is a mid to top end pipe but his is exactly the opposite. He has lots of low end but a very flat spot on top. You have to short shift the crap out of it. It seems like it just quits rapn out after it gets in the pipe wtf. I know this is a jetting problem but Ive heard a lot of different opinions on this. Oh yea air box lid removed and the single kn filter. Should we go back to the stock needles or just down jet ???? The plugs are plenty wet now but mabey too much?????

whats your elevation ?.. if the plug is still wet , id say u could go down a jet safely. most likley that flat spot is from the main being too fat and dumping too much fuel in the jug. try leaning it out 1 size on the main . if there still a flat spot maybe one more but make sure u check the plugs each time so u can see the diffrence in the readings.

Ever here of what clip they set the stock needles at. I down jetted tonight to a 310 and it helped alot but still doesnt fill quite right. Anybody else running the tr6 that has been on other pipes think that they feel weird. I still dont believe that these pipes are performing to there fullest.

I have no experience with Toomeys but based on other friends with them I would try 280-290 main if running the air box , Toomey needles on 4th clip .

Stock needles on 3rd clip.

It's real hard to tell ,all bikes not the same ,but it sounds like your rich on the mains.

Have you ran a plug test?
