what'll this run like

its a trinity stage IV motor that i got really cheap. but i still have stock pipes. the last of the parts should be coming in today so i was wondering will it run like a stock bike, or will it be wildly different? also will i need to change the jetting?

i'm really unsure of how it will perform. it will be hindered quite a bit with those stock pipes. personally i'd wait until i could get some pipes on it. i'm not sure about the jetting either, because i'm not sure about how much air it's going to flow with porting and all and stock pipes, but it ain't gonna be what you want.

 

three words: get some pipes.

Put it together and run it with the stock pipes. Then let us know what you think. I have always wanted a stock piped sleeper that would kill the new 450s. B)

I would kinda be interested to see how it runs, whether it will be seriously choked or actually run pretty good.

a friend of mine tells me that one day he was at LS and he would routinely get spanked at the strip by a stock piped sleeper bike. he swears up and down that they werent PT mids. now if i could find out who this guy is or what he did to those pipes id be in business. cause no one expects a stock piped bike to be even close out there. btw still waitin on the rings to give you guys a ride report. one more thing is there any way that i could pull all of that baffle crap out and mod it to accept silencer packin cause thatd be pretty nice if i could

taking the packin out will be a pain, u gotta cut the silencers, then rip it out and put new shit in there that prolly wont work good, a pain in the ass at best, i think the stock pipes will hinder or chock up the perfomance to, but i say give it a run with em on, ur just gonna have to find the jetting from where ur at now, and do you have other pipes coming?

nope no pipes in the mail, spent all of my money on the jugs. but i did buy a mig welder last year so what all is involved in choppin those silencers. since theyre round i could use a tubing cutter and get some great cuts. if i cut right at the front welds when i put it back together no one would know the difference slap on some paint and run with it. if it werent for that polished cool head itd be a pretty cool sleeper project i think. but i would need to be careful so i dont screw up the silencers totally, like beyond repair

well this blow my jugs are on there last bore, so ill need to have it resleeved and get more new pistons thats good for $400-500. any one got any other cheaper ideas

Do you also have to have the sleeves matched to your port?
