"ATVs are not Toys."

Hmmm, I would have never guessed. So that's why I can't find them at Wal-mart and I have to be over 16 to ride one.

I think they have to put that there, kind of like the "Careful Coffee MAY Be Hot."

Some people LOVE to think that ignorance is bliss. They pull that bullshit "I didn't know" excuse out of their ass at every turn. I think those are the people that shouldn't get anything in a lawsuit. The Judge should tell them "I hope you learned something then!" And then go on about how an education is better than a $4.5 million dollar settlement.

It's not the governments fault for not enforcing the helmet laws. I think that the parents are the ones to blame for what there kid does on an atv. Rollover protection is flat out stupid and the women that wrote the article has probably never ridden an atv. She is probably some hippie liberal doushe that thinks she is doing God's work by banning atvs.

its the parents choice to let there kids ride them.i saw a guy at LS and he stop outside the south gate and was trying to teach his kid (looked 10) how to ride his banshee with toomeys and I could hear him saying "lisen to me this thing will kill you" then pointed to some slowhundredex's and said "this thing is not a peice of shit like those are" "it will kill you" :jesterlaugh:

It could be considered by some childabuse by not being responsible for your kids. If you put a 10 year old on a mans bike I say it is abuse, kinda like smoking in the car with your kid. You wouldn't put a 10 year old in the driver seat of your car, so why would someone put them on a banhsee at that age. The parents get what they deserve if something happens but its not fair to the kid that is not smart enough to know better.

Most parents know that leaving an unattended child around a pool is a no-no, so why would it be alright to leave a child with a big four wheeler? If the kid drowns it's the parent's fault, if a kid injures or kill himself on the quad, it's the quad's fault. soapbox.gif

Hmm, so there's warning labels on the steering column, huh? Maybe I need to take a look at my steering stem, right after I fit a frickin' roll cage, geez. Sounds like Canada wants to follow our shitty "legislate it to death" policy, let's hope that's not the case. The only bright point was that they did mention education, that along with responsibility (on parents, not manufacturers) will go a long way...

That makes perfect sense to have warning labels on the steering stem Ben. Think about it. Whats the first thing you do when you get on your Banshee?? You look up and down the steering stem looking for warning decals. Hell I've done it 3 times just today!!!!

They also need to put warning stickers on the insides of the tires, as well as on the shift lever, hand grips, on the seat foam itself, and inside the carburators. That way if you happen to re jet your carb let say....you see a warning label to remind you that this woman is a fucking moron.

Oh one thing I forgot. My banshee is dangerous and mis labeled. I started it, pinned the throttle with it in gear and up on blocks and took a nap. It nearly flew out from underneath me!!!!!! I was both shocked and angry that Yamaha didn't warn me that it could be dangerous to do that.

:yank:

I wanna see a write-up on the parent's ignorance & neglect to teach their kids properly about safety & riding....not just, "Here's the gas, here's the brake, you shift here, & Go!"  That's just asking for it if you ask me. <_<

:P Thats how I learned to ride, but not on anything big, just a tt-r 125 ;) .
