banshees and beers
Forget warning labels, if you can't look at your bike and respect the fact it could kill you everytime you get on it, then you don't belong on it. You can have a blast with a banshee, you just have to know the dangers. I am tired of people blaming quads for injuring poeple. "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" same thing applies to Quads, or anything else we do in life. blk02banshee
There was a similar article in our local paper a week or so ago. . There's a group out here now, trying to get all ATVs banned, and trying to get a nationwide recall on all 3-wheelers. It's insane! I'll have to see if I can find the article online. here's one from last week: ATV ARTICLE Edited June 23, 2004 by blk02banshee

Nighty
"The high center of gravity, vital for climbing over bumps and logs, makes ATVs prone to tipping" HIGH center?? they must be talking about a craptor... Theres nothing like a banshee on road. sure enough .. you have to know what you are doing.
Wallynut
Anyone who has had thier kid hurt or killed while riding a ATV is naturaly gonna blame the ATV. In todays society, no one wants to accept responsablilty. On the other side of the coin, the media/reporter is more then likely liberal, which equals environmental wacko. They don't like atv's much less anything that burns gas. It's like owning a gun, there is always some fruit cake thinking up some way ban them, even tho we all know that it is operator error that causes the problems. Wait till one of these wacko's say "we should ban them, to save the life of but one child is worth it" now that will really piss ya off! PUSH THE THROTTLE
Jason was intrigued. Against Johnson's wishes, she says, the adult let her son hop in front of him and take the wheel. The problem right there is that when the parent said no then the kid shouldn't have gotten on. Obviosly the person who wrote that doesn't know the difference between handlebars and a steering wheel. A couple of weeks ago I read in the paper that a 3 year old was killed while riding with a 5 year old or something like that. The two kids were apparently doing donuts while the 3 year olds mother watched. The newspaper wrote all about how dangerous ATV's are since 2 people had died riding atv's last year in Iowa. The kids were actually riding a 5 wheel gator which correct me if I'm wrong doesn't classify as an ATV. But the important part of the story, no disrespect to the kid who died, was that in Iowa as of July 1 it is illegal to ride in road ditches, they will now have 2 ATV police driving around, and everyone 18 and under must pass an ATV training course. I'm 24 and just recently (February) had really my first accident on a fourwheeler and I've been riding them since I was 14. I was doing about 60 in the snow and tried to jump a small snowpile. I didn't realize the snow pile as actually a railroad tie it kicked my rearend up so I was nose wheelieing and I looked up saw a parked car infront of me and bailed. I hit hard enough to get knocked out and a ride to the emergency room in an ambulance. I luckily had nothing broken, not even a single bruise. But I did get a nice bill still working with insurance on that one. My Banshee hit the car hard enough to move it 18 inches (Mercury Sable right behind the rear tire. Only damage to the banshee was sheared two bolts to and bent my DG bumper. The point I'm getting at is that I blame only myself and have learned the importance of knowing your riding area and wearing proper safety gear. The banshee wasn't to blame for my stupidity. Nor should any atv be blamed for what the rider does with it.
blk02banshee
The incident that was in that article that I posted happened less than 2 miles from my house. Ever since then, I can't even start my banshee without the cops showing up. It really sucks. I got pissed at my son's mother about a year ago, because she was letting her 9 year old niece give my 5 year old son rides on their 500 polaris. SHe said "if he can ride with YOU why not HER?" My son has been riding with ME since he was 6 months old, and I have 20 years experience. That 9 year old spoiled brat could'nt even reach the foot brake! We argued for months about it, until they sold the quads when one of the neighbor kids almost got hurt. It still pisses me off when I think about it though. It's people like that, that fuel the anti-ATV bullshit.
