Tungsten
My gf of 5 years wants to learn how to ride my banshee.... Now she has never driven any off road type of bike. She does not even know how to drive a manual car. Im not sure if the Banshee is a good bike to learn on. What do you guys think? Let her go at it? Or buy a 400ex and let her learn on that? Start her off on something "easy" like flat loose dirt, stay away from anything with traction, but you might want to take the time to explain things like the clutch, and how it works (friction point, not holding it in and reving the piss out of the engine), how the 2 stroke engine works, why the power band is so snappy etc You might want to even go as far as to explain about mixing the gas so you don't end up with a surprise if she doesn't know.... Make sure she understands it so she doesn't end up getting hurt most importantly. And when she tells you there is something wrong with your banshee, or its not running right, just ignore it. lol
MULLET~BOY
let her ride the banshee if she gets scared get her a 400ex
evil
i would say no and yes, or do what i did, send her out for a spin on your pride and joy and see what happens, she will eighter love it or hate it. if she loves it your screwed, if she crashes your screwed because shes going to hate it and your shee is wrecked. no matter how you look at it your screwed. im off to build my wifes banshee
locogato11283
id say start her on a 4 stroke. its a lot more manageable power and if you have an even somewhat built banshee, its more than likely gonna be too much for her. my girl just started riding my 450 here a while back, shes gotten pretty good, but nowhere good enough to be hoppin on my banshee. they are a night and day difference. she has never driven a manual vehicle but understands the concepts. if your girl understands how that works she may be alright. bad thing about a banshee, is when she kills it shes gotta kick start it. its nice when learning to have the push button. sredish
I'd tell her the only way she's getting on the banshee is if she's naked.

reas11
id let her ride it what the hell .if u are scared then just use the screw in the throttle to prevent it from winding out . u have nothing to be scared of .

Nighty
Lovely wife indeed! What kind of tires are those on the rear?
ledofthezep
Get her her own quad before you lose yours! My g/f started out riding years ago before I even met her, I got her a banshee on our 4yr mark...ended up being a wreck(needed a lot done to it) so I rebuilt it to look purty & traded it off for an '01 400ex and screwed a dealer out of about 3g's. She's happy with it since I put on the full WB's exhaust, rejetted,..some other cosmetic chit & it's going to be rebuilt to match my banshee soon, but she still likes to cut loose on the banshee, she's not skeered by any means. Someday down the road she's going to let me build her a full on drag banshee so she can go put a hurt'n on the boys. But for now, she's happy with her EX...she'll like it even more when she can really ride it(just had her ACL completely replaced). If nothing else, I got a pretty nice ranch/trail bike to play on. Here's a pic of her old banshee, her present EX, & a typical shot at the dunes....notice she's on my banshee.
racer
what kinf of intake is on her shee? looks similar to a trinity, but it doesnt appear to be one. although the long intake runner seems like itd have some nice low end
ledofthezep
It was a graydone proline 2:1 setup with a 35mm pwk & K&N. It had great low-end...until the clutch exploded. If I would have been thinking I should have stolen that setup and switched it with my stock shit, but didn't.
