top case or bottom ??

it will invlove disassembly most of the motor to do it

just make sure that the mating surfaces of the cases are clean then put on some case bonding stuff

make sure that u torque all the case studs and bolts in the right order its really not to bad of a job

the stuf you can get at honda or kaw or yamaha is all the same or threebond wich is the company that makes it for them whatever is easiest for you to go get

It's really not that hard. Definately get a Clymers if you don't already. And have a pretty good size clean space to keep track of everything. The cranks is a no brainer to get out. The trans is a little more complex, but pretty much just as easy. I had to hit mine pretty good with a rubber mallet to get it to split. And like what was already said, make sure evrything is clean before you reassemble it. Good, luck

Best part about the bottom... you really don't have to take the top end apart. banshee370 gave me the info on this when my 2nd gear was shot and I got both gear clusters replaced w/o taking the top end off.

Buy all the seals you need. Don't reuse 'em by any means. Yamabond #4 is what you want to put on the case halves before resealing them.
