New carbs on Stock engine..?

Hey fellas,

Great place you got here!

I am rebuilding my Shee and was wondering if I could get something in the way of new carbs..?? Engine is not totally stock as the jeting has been changed along with K & N's. THis project is a 'ground up' project where I am rippin it all out and getting things powder coated, chromed, etc, etc..

Also, can I remove ALL electrical from the quad, or do I hjave to leave some on it, besides the plug box of course?? I dont want any lights or shit on it any longer. I appreciate the responses!

Thanks

You can get new carbs if you want, but it's not necessary. It's really not necessary to get new carbs until you step up to stroking or big bore kits. It's been proven here with dyno sheets that the stock carbs can easily carry the motor from stock through some decent mods. What I would suggest is instead of replacing the carbs, get rid of the TORS tops (if haven't already) and get a Pro Design intake setup. They look pretty good and help pull some more power.

you really dont need new carbs unless you are going to do some extreme porting or other built up shit. if you are just runnin pipes and filter just leave the stock carbs. i have heard they will actually out perform a stock engine. so with pipes and air filter you should be about right. you have to leave some electrical. the stuff that comes out of the stator side of you engine and what not that runs to the back of the quad, and some little shit up front must stay. you can just unplug the lights. you can get rid of the key switch if you want. just cut the wires then i think you need to crimp them together. its been a while since i last did this so i may be backwards. just try it and if it starts, thats how you shoud leave it. you can get rid of the taillight as well. just unplug it.
