Well in the magazine it gives you all the great stuff about it, like its got extra storage room for tools and the bed of the pick up is very wide so you can fit a good portion of stuff, I didnt really say it was diffrent I just mentioned it thats all.

For off roading..I'd get a jeep..an old cj-7 would be ideal. I had an F-150..tough mother fucker. Now I got an E-350 van. One thing I hated about my pickup was the lack of weather protection the bed provided...that and the bed doubled as a dumpster for lazy fucks who can't walk the extra 5 feet down the parking lot.

I have owned only one half ton pickup and have owned six 3/4 ton pickups or vans. Now own a 3/4 ton Dodge.pickup and one ton Dodge van. I will never go back to a half ton truck. Even though the half ton may meet the load and towing ratings, you are always better with tougher, stronger components. Everything lasts longer like brakes, tires, front end, transmision, even motor because the half ton is geared taller and the engine has to work harder. Only time the half ton is any good is when driving around empty you save gas. Better to buy another small car or a bike and leave the truck parked.

I've got 5.4L and a 4.6L (wife's) F150 Supercrews and I love it. It really depends on what you want it for though. I'd get the 5.4L or maybe even look into the supercharged model if I were you. The 4.6 has plenty of power for driving around, but isn't quite as fun. :P Now if you're going to be towing bigass trailers, get a F250 diesel. Those things are bad!

Well I have a 98 F150 Off Road and I love it. I have 285/75-16 BFG Mud Terrains on it and can go anywhere. I have over 150,000 miles on mine since I bought it new and it still runs like a champ. The only things I have added are a K&N filter and a exhaust system to get that throaty sound. I hardly ever pull anything big so a half ton was a good choice for me.

I have a 97 F-150 Ext Cab with the 5.4. I personally hate it, its a POS- altho just cruising down the highway its much more confortable than my 4dr HD Chevrolet. As for towing, we use the F-150 EVERYDAY to pull a 14' landscape trailer packed with as much shit as we can get on it...it pulls ok, nothing to brag about. My HD pulls anything I put behind it ( Gas 6.0l ) If you are just looking for an everyday riding around with the occasional pullin the F-150 is not a bad choice, I still preffer Chevrolet if you are lookin for a 1/2 ton.
