DirtRider
im currently mixing 32-1. if i mix it 40-1 is it possable have increased throttle response or could it decreese? im running yamalube.
nickxc
I think it could go either way... By going from 32:1 to 40:1 you are gunna add more parts gas to the same parts air causing your mixture to richen. If you are currently a little lein on the bottom then the added fuel will pick you up a little, if you where allready a little rich then it is gunna richen you up even more and cause a little less power production. right?? anyone else?? MILO
changing your premix isn't going to affect your fuel to air ratio. that can only be done with intake mods/carb adustments. if you change from 32:1 to 40:1, you are only making your premix more lean. no real difference it performance, but your giving your motor less lubrication. with yamalube, i'd stick with 32:1 to be on the safe side. sredish
your not going to notice any difference in performance by going from 32:1 to 40:1. If your using 32:1 and aren't having any troubles, then just keep it that way. Lighten your flywheel if you want better throttle response. Less than one bill and helps out a lot in that dept. BTW, boonman will do it for you and get it back to you within a few days. Edited June 19, 2004 by sredish
nickxc
ok you might not notice any difference but you will be increasing the fuel to air ratio because in your tank you will have less oil so you will have more room for gas. meaning that instead of having 32 parts of fuel to every 1 part of oil you will have 40 parts fuel to every 1 part oil. That means that coming through your jets will be more gas and less oil but the air intake will remain the same causing an increase in fuel and a richer mixture... some people mistakenly think that lein/rich means the amount of oil in the gas, people think that adding more oil is "richening" the mixture but it is actually doing the oposite by decreasing the amoung of gas you can put with the oil you lein your mixture out...
