putting on a good fight at atvconection

Thanks to Yamaha for not slacking off on 2-stroke development. I just read on Yamaha USA site that the 05 YZ250 2-stroke is 10 pounds lighter, has perimeter aluminum frame, and is more powerfull. The 05 YZ125 2-stroke is 8 pounds lighter, also has perimeter aluminum frame and is more powerful. There are also proposals for 2-stroke only national M-X events now that the starting grids are loaded with 4-strokes especially in 125 class. Go YAMAHA. They could really build one hell of a Banshee with all the new technology if they would only try.

First night out, my black / red Banshee went 7.412 @ 88.93 mph and 7.417 @ 88.35 mph. Needed to be geared a little higher and a few other modifications. It will surely break 90 mph and should make it into the 7.2s. We'll see as I get more time to dial it in.

Banshee - stock with pipes

DS 650 - showroom stock

Man, That's the fastest shee I heard of bascially stock!

My buddy who has flat track Am. Racers w/ pipes and 15/41 gears

the fastest he could get his Shee at a local drag strip! was 8.7@75.6mph

Is it me or does the guys @ atvconnections have some fast rides over there..?

Its me, Daren on BansheeHQ and on AtvConnection. I ran those times with a gas 400 Cheetah, not a stock engine. Sorry you guys didn't get that inside joke. I have that in my profile to poke a little fun of the guys that list every little thing they have on their bike, and partially to keep some people in suspense as to what I am running.

P.S. Those numbers are what it ran prior to its new owner. After he bought the 400, it ran a 7.33 with his FTZ alcohol Mikuni carbs. Then he took it to the dyno and after getting it tuned it made 90 hp (about a 15 hp gain).

I have officially given up on that site. You might see a post or two from me every now and then, but between the race ready blasters, 300ex's, and the piped z400's that run with ported banshees, it's a wonder the site isn't 100% preteen kids. Like I said earlier in this thread, half the banshee guys over there wouldn't be able to tell you how a bike with 200 degrees exhaust duration would run compared to a bike with 180 degrees.
