87sheerips
I am rebulding my 87 banshee from the gound after blowing my chain through my case at silver lake sand dunes memorial weekend. I have yellow and red plastic. What color schemes can u suggest, along with what type of paint I should use. I cant afford powder coating at the time, but everything is sanded down to the metal. Any advice would be great, thatnks a lot, J.D
Banshee169
Just did my 87! Use a high quality car paint. You may want to prime everything with a rust inhibitor. As far as color schemes go, if you are staying with yellow and red plastic, I would do the frame in red or black and do the swingarm, j-arms, hubs etc. in the opposite red/black you paint the frame. Like red frame, black components or black frame, red components. I am kind of partial to red frame and black components because mine is this way and also the grease from your zerks doesn't look as bad on black as it does on a lighter color. A couple good coats of clear really make the bike shine and the paint look nice and deep. If you don't want to o it yourself a body shop could do it up real nice for under 150.00 (just a suggestion) Edited June 21, 2004 by Banshee169
