RV00GT
I can't decide what to do with my head. Everyone is telling me get the head shaved, get it ported, get a noss head. What is the best option?

frocashmoney24
haha, im dying here and tryin to type at the same time, shits not workin out! porting a head does shit to a 2 stroke, if u dont have alot get the head shaved, bump up ur compression, if u have cash get a noss, look great, keep it cooler, adds some bottom ened grunt, and u can interange the domes hwen u want, and cheap to fix if one gets dinged up
RV00GT
How much better is a noss head compared to a stock head ported?
Nighty
Any aftermarket head will go somewhere around 200$ Some include a set of domes some do not. A set of domes will be around 50$ give or take 10$ Domes are the compression chambers. a banshee head gets shaved (materiaal beeing removed from the base of the head to lower the head, creating a smaller dome/compression chamber) giving you more compression. a head shave job at your local barber (boonman) will be MUCH and MUCH cheaper. He did mine.. great work still have to test it but it looks good. If i am not mistaking he does the shave job for 35$
sredish
compared to a stock head ported? when did we start porting heads, I want in, can I play too?? Can't port two stroke heads, cause there ain't no ports to port. If you have any spare cash, get an aftermarket head, Noss head, PD Coolhead. I'd go with the Noss cause of the BHQ support and the sweet color options. If money is tight, there's nothing wrong the milling the head to get the compression you want, but a an aftermarket will help equalize the extra heat with the raised compression, it looks cool, and you can always raise or lower the compression later, where with a milled head, you got what you got. Later.
RV00GT
I'm a little new to this 2 stroke thing, but learning something new everyday, thanks
Oilsmoke
A good place to start is milling your head. you can sell it later if you would want better cooling. there are a few Memebers at the Hq that can mill it for you for a fair price. KRMit
About how much would a Noss head cool the running temp?
sredish
an aftermarket will help equalize the extra heat with the raised compression depends on the domes you use. if they're equal to stock, the head will help, if you raise the compression much, the temps will be the same, because the cooling will offset the extra heat the higher compression gives off.
