FoxBansheeRacing
Everyone has a different opinion, some say just go ride it, some will say to ride it easy for 4-5 tanks. Here is what I do: start it and let it idle until the cylinders get hot to the touch, then shut it off, let if cool all the way down, then go ride it for about 10-20 minutes not going past 3/4. Let it cool completely again, and retorque the base and head bolts. Ride it easy for the next tank or 2, not going past 3/4 throttle for more than about 5 seconds. After all thats done, let her scream. Edited May 29, 2004 by FoxBansheeRacing

Banshee~
I would let her warm up real good then ride for 1 hour then shut off let her cool down all the way then repeat. Then take it easy for 2 tanks. And dont hold her wide open in any gear just take it easy.Go find a big field thats a good place to do that. BansheeBrian
Fire it up and let her get hot to the touch on the head, then shut it down and let cool.Do this three times then ride for 15-20 min. keeping the throttle under 3/4 and ride at various speeds, then shut it down and let cool.Retorque head and base. Now take it easy for the next two tanks of fuel.On you're third fill up,step on it! alba_banshee
Put in water, bring to a boil. Let simmer for 15-20 min. Add some pepper and tabasco and bang, that's a spicey Banshee.
BansheeJerry
Warm it up. Make sure your jetting is right. Once she is dialed in run the piss out of her.
fixitrod
Straight for Eric Gorrs web page 10) When you initially start the engine after a rebuild, manipulate the choke to keep the engine rpm relatively low. Once the engine is warm enough to take it off choke, drive the vehicle around on flat hard ground. Keep it under 2/3 throttle for the first 30 minutes. Two common myths for proper engine break-in are; 1) Set the engine at a fast idle, stationary on a stand. 2) Add extra pre-mix oil to the fuel. When the engine is on a stand it doesn't have any air passing through the radiator and it is in danger of running too hot. When you add extra oil to the fuel you are effectively leaning the carb jetting. This can make the engine run hotter and seize.
