CoopBanshee
I have a stock 04 banshee and it takes me about 5 kicks to get it started. I was told that I should be able to start it in one kick. Maybe I am doing somethiong wrong. How do you guys start your shee? Choke in or out? Throttle? Do you prime the engine? Stuff like that It might sound like a stupid question but no one I ride with has a banshee so I can;t ask them.
roosthrower
choke out with no throttle. rock the shee back and forth to mix any oil that has sank to the bottom of the tank. give it a good kick and it should start on the first or second kick. SANDSTAR
Mine would start 2nd or 3rd kick with no choke. But I live in AZ, so it is always warm here. After I put 34mm carbs on, she likes a little choke on the left carb, but does not like having it left on for more than a few seconds. I think it really just depends on the state of tune, temperature, and how long the bike has been setting in between rides.
ranshee
Mine used to have a little problem starting when it was stock. I have an 04 model. Once I put some upgrades on it, I have'nt had any prob starting it. I'm shure the upgrades have nothing to do with it, I think once it has completly broken in it should start up just fine. Mine starts first or second kick everytime, unless there is no gas in the carbs, then its 4 or 5 times.

When I put my engine back in the frame after it sitting for a year and a half, it kicked over in 15 kicks, but after 3 kicks I noticed the chock wasn't pulled, and the gas wasn't on. By kick #6 I saw the kill switch in the off position...I was ready to kick myself instead. I was really hoping to see how many honest kicks it took to get it started after sitting that long. After its been run, it will kick over sometimes in one kick, and I don't even have to stand up to do it. After it sits for a week or so, it takes a little bit to get it over, maybe 15-20 kicks. Dunno why.

Screamin_Banshee
Firts start of the day is usually 3-5 kicks, after that 1 kick and shee's usually up and runnin.

Your needles may be leaking fuel. If you turn the gas off the bowl may be drying out. If you leave the gas on it could flood the cylinder. Usually hard starting shee's with good compression need a pilot jet adjustment. Edited May 27, 2004 by fixitrod
