And what HP and top speed do you think Im looking at on my bike with the mods listed below? (It also has some crazy carb <not stock>) Thanks for any help, its cool to have a place to ask questions. I know what a CRANKSHAFT is, I didnt know what a crank is, and apparently Im an idiot cause theyre the SAME thing. Ok, so what does getting it welded do? And no, I have 2 carbs, I just dont remember the name so I said crazy. Let me go into my garage and check the name, BRB. Whatever, I dont know, maybe they ARE stock after all. I'll elaborate, mostly because its late, and I'm bored. The stock banshee crank isn't forged like a crank in a dragster engine. All out of one piece of steel, and the grain follows along the lines and bends. The stock banshee crank is pressed together, something like 7 individual pieces all pressed together to make up the crank. Now, if you get enough HP out of your engine, and your clutch can back it up, there is so much pressure between the clutch side of the crank, and the connecting rod journals trying to turn it, that one side will actually slip due to its being pressed together. I have a twisted crank at my shop I can take a picture of to put up here tomorrow if you would like. When you weld your crank, you are welding the individual pieces together to make them all one piece. It isn't a HUGE weld. Usually its a smaller TIG weld on a section of the piece being welded.
