Stock Head Domes

Recommended Posts

Well i just blew my shee up looks like its goin to need a new crank, and new top end. Well my question is, the domes in the head seem to have a couple nicks and dings in it, and i was wondering if i should replace the head, or if i could just replace the domes out of the stock head if they are removable. I have pics on my computer if someone needs to see them.

heres a pic

the domes are cast into the stock head and not replaceable

u do waht to at least clean that up befor eyou put it all back together

i used a small hone on a die grinder and just worked it realy slow

be careful not to nick the outer ring of the dome where it makes that step up

u might have to take some emery paper and polish it up smooth

just do not leave it the way it is

if you need a stock head with out any dings marks or damage jsut give me a shoot in about a week............i am takin a vacation starting in a few hours

If I had to rebuild, the last thing i would do is use a recycled head that I ground down with a die grinder. Now would be a good time to have the head re-chambered for your new bore and milled down if you are not going to go with an aftermarket head.
