squish Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 I bought some avgas today. mixed it with 93. What a difference. It was almost $5.00 a gal. Not to bad I guess. There is a little airport next to me. The guy said it has lead in it so I guess that will only make it run cooler. Quote
ledofthezep Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 The only thing bad about AV gas is that it has no lubricants like regular fuel does, and it will only burn hotter, not cooler. I wouldn't advise running it myself...I have before but did not notice any gains other than a gain in temp. Quote
Rescuejeff Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 Led, I thought that the lead helped it run cooler than hotter???? If you could send me some info on that I would be happy to read it. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 Jim at passion convinced me that AV gas was a good fuel, there is a post somewhere about it. He said its good for engines that are right between running pump gas and race gas, like running 20cc domes. Ive been running it in my +4 for a while now and it doesnt run any hotter than my 350 on pump, sometimes i even think it runs cooler. I can get it for $2.80/gallon so its wallet friendly. Smells good when it burns too Quote
Holyman Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 The way gas prices are right now I might start running it in the car if it's $2.80 Quote
sweetshee4312 Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 hahahahahaha , its sooo tru,, im only 15, and im more worried about gas than insurance right now. at least i dont gotta pay that shit for another year Quote
