I been mixing 32:1 and the gallon jug says 50:1 premix so I've been thinking of going a little leiner 36:1 or 40:1. I run wideopen for long distances some times (5 miles) so I dont want to go all the way to 50:1 Im worried that wont be enough. any ideas???? Holyman Posted May 21, 2004 Report Share Posted May 21, 2004 Read the bottle, mix it up and ride. I run the 100:1 Sabre stuff at 80:1 and rode it all winter wide open with no jetting changes at all. The Dominator oil is made to be run at 50:1 for highly modified engines. There should be no need at all to run with a higher oil content. PlaynSand Posted May 22, 2004 Report Share Posted May 22, 2004 The Amsoil series 2000 and the Dominator are the same oil , Amsoil just recently renamed the oil Dominator , I use this oil at 50:1 and I have not had any problems from the banshee , other than it keeps the plugs so clean it is hard to read them. I have been using the Dominator in my Polaris oil injection tank and I think it is a 40:1 ratio and it has not had problems , So 40:1 ratio works also. I'll prolly go 40:1 Im just worried about holding it wide open for long periods. I will ride it then prolly jet down to compensate for the added fuel. cam2 Posted May 22, 2004 Report Share Posted May 22, 2004 don't worry about it. run it at the recommended 50:1 ratio. the most important thing is that you're JETTED PROPERLY for running WOT for long distances. amsoil is good oil, the 2000 oil is designed for severe racing conditions so if you're JETTED PROPERLY you won't have any problems, atleast not from the oil. when i first started using 50:1 2000 oil i was nervous as well but no longer, as long as they continue to sell it i'll continue to use it with confidence.
