trail rider
I am kinda stuck here . I have about $4200 settin in my bank account just earnin intrest. I have been saving it for about 3 years and I kinda want to buy something with it. Either a small truck or a banshee. The kinda truck I'm interested in is a small 4 cylinder type truck (S10 or ranger) with preferably a 5 speed or automatic. Lately I have been driving my dads GMC quarter ton to school and I have been paying for the gas. My dad doesn't really want me to buy a truck yet untill I get a job cause he thinks I wont be able to pay the insurance. I am really wanting to get a brand new banshee but I can settle with a nice used one with pipes . I know $4200 is not enough to buy a new shee but I was thinking I could make about a $1000 down payment on it and make monthly payments on it untill I get a job (Next year is my last year of high school and I may find a job before then). Anybody know about how much a new banshee costs including the taxes and stuff?
joehead24
ive got a 2001 with really really low hours that i'd sell for $3800 Edited May 20, 2004 by joehead24
trail rider
Thats a nice lookin shee and I would consider it, but I wont be ready to buy anything until around august or sometime. Don't take this the wrong way or anything, but, does it usually mean when somebody's trying to sell a new shee (like 02' and up) with "very low miles" that they probably blew the topend or rode it hard and dont feel like fixing it? Gargamel
get a truck!!! If you plan on joining the work force or going to College you'll need a ride. Worry about toys later when your ready. And alot of people sell 01-newer shee's with low hours because it's just not what they expected a shee to be like. I got mine used, it's a 01 with no mods(till I got it) for $3200. I never buy new because you can always find a used 1 for half the price. A used 1 will last just as long if it wasn't abused. Just let the price reflect the ware on the bike!! and thats my 2 cents

evil
stay away from e bay's great deals get a truck, a job, save up and get a shee, at least by the time you get one youll have something to take it out in, and not have to ask your pops to borrow his ride. MILO
i agree. you can't depend on the shee to get you to work and school and so on. your own vehicle is a necessity, let the toys come later. patience my young friend.
John19
When I was in highschool I wanted to sell this or get a loan for that, I was lucky enough my dad and I rode quads together. He had a 99 she moded and I had a 96 shee moded. Sold those and I got a job and bought myself a truck, it has taken me 2 years but I now OWN (no payments no leans ect.) a 2001 Kawasaki zx-6r streetbike (flawless exaust ect.) and a 1998 shee it's got so much crap on it I can't spoil her much more! And all my stuff is paid for. WOrk hard and save some green, trust me payments suck and everyone here can agree that they blow!

MILO
have patience young'n. limits on your toys and debt is a given for most of us. first comes the vehicle-substantiall $$. then comes your sweetie you got from cruisin in the cool vehicle- major$$$. then comes the little ones you made with the sweetie that you made out with in your vehicle - rugrats and the new family vehicle to haul them in-$$$$$$$. mortgage for the new house to provide a stable home for the sweetie, rugrats, and a garage for the vehicle-$$$$$$$$$$$$$. where does the shee fit in? considering the job, the bills, the kids, the wife, the mortgage, you need to escape now and then. that's where 'shee comes in. your already in debt up to your ass, so what's another 6 g's for a new shee. by then, the wife will want you out of the house now and then anyway, and there's no better way to go. soon you hear "daddy, can i get a fo wheewer?" ha-ha, it's a never ending cycle. you better go with an old beat up truck, get yourself thru school, college, and get yourself a damn good job. the fun is just beginning. In fact if you lived pretty close to where I live (within 70-100 miles) Then I probably would buy your banshee cause it looks like its in really nice condition
