Wassup350
I dont care how much faster other quads are than the Banshee ill never trade mine for anything but an other Banshee. They might not be the best but they certainly are the most fun to ride in my point of view. Nothing is more thrilling than hitting that power band going down a nice strait away and passing your buddy like they arent even moving. roosthrower
I guess that not very many of yall have seen the new 450's in action. Stock for Stock, the banshee is no match against either 450's unless you race a 1/4 mile. Them 450's are faster as much as I hate to admit it stock for stock. It takes a piped shee to beat a stock 450. And a piped 450 will beat a piped shee. I've seen it too many times.
nickxc
I have ridden a yfz 450 several times my buddy has one and it is a fast quad but My banshee felt faster. I was also more comfortable on the shee. The 450 is fast but the banshee just felt much faster. and much better for my style of riding and I think anyone who has ridden banshees for a while shares my riding style. It might be as close to my ridng style as a 4 stroke can get. idk
jeepman380
They aren't comparing if one can beat the other in a drag they are just comparing which is better in the sand, and of coarse the Banshee is a sand machine where the 450 is more at home on a MX track. Everyone knows the Banshee is king when it comes to sand.
ranshee
Dude the way I read it was the banshee was the worst they said because of the poor tires. They used the bikes the exact same way they come off the show room floor. They said the tires would spin so much it was hard to get traction, thay even gave the banshee a head start and it still lost to both bikes up a sand dune or bowl or something like that. I'm also with loco on the idea that who ever pays the mag the most money will find there quad out in front, but these were all yamahas this time
Ducman
I read the article and I thought it was pretty un biased. However, I'll agree that stock for stock in the sand a YZF 450 will eat any stock banshee even with a good rider. But, like the article said, if you want to go to the extreme with your mods on the banshee you can, and no 4 stroke will even think of beating a properly stroked and ported banshee in a drag. There are always bad ass drag banshees at the dunes that no one can even challange. I believe that is why they gave the banshee the king of the dunes statis, even though they were comparing stock bikes, they threw a little potential into the equation. hamuel
Is the yfz450 high geard in first like the trx450 ??? if so. there guttless, Only way there even considered fast is because of the gearring. WHen yah drag the 450 it's going to fall short. It just don't got the power to pull the gearring in them. Im willing to bet if you used the same gearring on a stock shee it would be faster. Thats it the difference in the gearing
nickxc
idk, I think the 450 motor is very strong and produces good power Im not going to get guttsey enough to say its slow thats for sure I rode one and its not slow. However the 90 day warranty is up on the one that I rode that belongs to a friend of mine and the crank bearings went and his motor is out and at the local dealer. they quoted him around $800. good thing he didn't get one of those "unreliable 2 strokes" since they blow up all the time. 98bonerSTOCKshee
I was playing around with a 450 back around last summer.. We were on a 300' sand drag, We were both stock at the time, If it wasn't for me having paddles he would have gotten me everytime, but with the paddles it was the fairly even . 300' wasn't enough room anything longer I feel I would wasted the 450. Now with the T-5's and jetting I haven't had the pleasure of RaceDraggin one. I have seen 450 ride them slow ass wheeles (ya'll know the ones) up Little Sahara's Buttercup. I cant do that. I can ride up it really fast however! just my experiences.LOL!
locogato11283
loco.... Explain to me why yamaha would rather the banshee beat there newly released high powered sport quad. Keep in mind the banshee will stop being produced soon.. Wouldn't they be better off saying the 450 is faster for sales. well maybe sales are down. maybe they want a huge sellout on banshees when the time comes. who knows. all im saying is that i cant hardly believe that the banshee outperformed the 450 in the sandor whereever. they are not going to have any troubleselling the 450. id like to see their sales numbers. they have sold so many of them its not even funny. i just think that if the banshee life really is coming to an end soon, yamaha is doing something to make it a big deal. i dont know 100% for sure how it all goes down. i just find it hard to believe that even in sand a stock 450 that can keep up with full on $20,000 race quads, will be beaten by a stock banshee. and YES i know they are in sand, i just still think its wierd.
