Always..if you care about the well being of your engine..Always oil your filters..both layers even your K&N's. Open pore foam type filters depend on the oil to sit in the cavities of the foam and trap dirt as it works it's way into the filter. Withoil the oil, dirt will eventualy find a way through and into your motor, cloging up your carbs, getting into your crank bearings sandblasting everything inside and causing premature wear on every part inside that motor.
