jeepman380
I bought a new 200 watt stator and installed it and after riding it for a few short moments it just quit. I had an idea of what it was so I changed my FMF CDI with a stock one and it fired right back up. Then I put the FMF one back on and nothing. I was just wondering why this happened? Could it of just been cause of the extra wattage or something? Well on the brighter side of things I ordered a Dyna Ignition CDI and should be here shortly . Indubitably
Where did you buy the stator, it might have needed a voltage regualtor or some sort of regulator thing. That may have caused your cdi to go out, but i don't know for sure.
jeepman380
I bought it from www.rickystator.com. He didn't say anything about needing a voltage regulator. If it blew out the FMF box why didn't it blow out the stock one too?
BenBB
The higher wattage stators don't change the voltage/wattage to the ignition circuit, only the lighting circuit, and the two are completely separate so chances are your FMF just happened to go out shortly after you put in the stator. I think FMF quit making those AOF ignitions so it may be a common problem. On the upside, I've had excellent luck with my Dyna so hopefully you should be set...
