Percy
Hi, Put the Dura Blue Filter on on Saturday. The shee feels more responsive. (The one that fits on the stock cage). Had a huge ride yesterday, very very dusty. When I took the filter off to clean it, there is a small, small amount of dust in the boot leading to the carbs. The slides are slightly black. I am sure I remember them being silver last time I cleaned the filter. Also with the stock filter, I am sure I remember the boot being absolutely free of dust. Should there be absolutly no dirt in the boot, leading to the carbs, or does some get in sometime. Do I need to clean this out as well and with what? Should the slides in the carbs that I can see from the filter be silver, or are they usually blackened and a bit dirty? Cheers,
Blue Duece
yeah i would clean it out......the best scenario is you can eat off your intakes......some guys will oil the shit out of the filter then adjust the air and pilots accordinly, dirt in the cumbustion chamber is wear, clean intakes is the best way to go
frocashmoney24
yea clean it out, you sure that new filter is seating properly, making a perfect seal? and you put oil on the filter right? i'd pull the carbs off and clean em, then clean the filter, put oil on it give her a go again and see what happens

The foam there is not that great, so I must make sure it is well greased. I did oil the filter well and have done so again after the ride. I will clean the carbs up and the intake and then give it another go. Thanks again
