95blazer
My current carb slides are pretty worn as they are the stock units that came on my 92 banshee. They are no longer black and have quite a few scratches in them. I went and bought new ones from Yamaha today for $81 each!!! Now my question is whether or not there is a way to rejuvenate my old slides or whether there is an alternative to buying these slides from Yamaha. Is there something special about these slides, I mean $81 is a bit ridiculous. One more question do you guys have any tips on sealing the motion pro carb tops for use in the sand? I noticed some sand getting in and cauising the throttle to stick. Thanks, Derek
sredish
are you sure the sand was getting in through the tops and not through the gas? Do you have an inline filter? I would highly suggest getting one if you don't have one. The slides are so much cause you got them from the dealer. If you have the new ones them just use them. As far as rejuvinating the old ones, don't really know how bad unless I can see them.
95blazer
Is there anywhere to get them other than the dealer that would be considerably cheaper?
Indubitably
you might be able to pick up a set of used carbs off ebay and use the slides out of em
Banchetta
I wouldn't buy any slides, its common for them to lose that black tephlon after a year...I wouldn't worry about minor scratches either...If your going to spend that much, then I'd buy a new set of carbs for that price on ebay....
