Whatsup Fellas. I Had One Hell Of A Weekend.

Recommended Posts

some people sayid your wife was worried about you. i think your wife is really good, it soulded like she was just conserned about you. (i know you can tell the difference).

this is a very good example of what the medical comunity can do. some people here think i bash the meial comunity but but this is what they are good at. but try going to them to cure your allergies and see if they can do that, LOL.

im glad your alright, for your familys sake, i know you have a good wife, ( by the way all good wife dont agree with the loved ones driving a death trap) your lucky you can greet your kid when she/he(i forget what sex your kid is, lol) come home from school and find out what good and bad went on at school.

a colapsed lung is very not good. good thing the man upstairs was thinking about us and gave us a pair of them. yes two of them incase we get gurt riding out bashees and collaps one of them.

well as you know post tramitic stress disorder, can be cause by something like this. PTSD is really, post hypnotic stress disorder, you know if you add resentment you a past trama or memery you can actually feel the same emotions and feeling as if it just happed. see if you add resentment to your axcident you could find yourself short of breath. it good for you to be alive, for your familys sake anyways, they need ya. weather yopu realize it or not. drop your resentment towards your axcint if you have any.

but you told that story very well. almost as though as if it was your friend that got hurt,(if you kow what i mean) very stong, bravery. take care. i hope you can get back to your hevenly duties soon.

i know exactly what you're going through, totalled my car up in philly in a night street race in '93, broke 3 ribs one of which punctured my lung and collapsed it. spent a week in the hospital after they put in a chest tube and reinflated my lung. had to sleep sitting up in the hospital bed, could'nt laugh, sneeze, cough, or hiccup without it feeling like the end of the world, time heals all wounds and i'm happy to say no reoccurances on the lung and you should soldier on with time too... ;)

Good to hear from you Sredish!! Sounds like you had a rough weekend but hopefully you'll be feeling better soon. It'll make a great story to tell your kids, heh.

A bit of advice for your next dune trip; the closer it gets to high noon the harder it is to read the terrain. Without shadows the uniform color of sand all blends together for a near "white out" condition. Plus it's usually hotter in the middle of the day so alot of times early morning and late evening are the best times to go out, and as others have said taking it easy at first to get an idea of what's where helps alot too.

Yes, I've done the same thing but not nearly as bad as yours, that must have been one hell of an impact. Glad to hear you're OK and hopefully will be riding again soon.

Oh yeah, tell Stacey thanks for posting, and hope if nothing else she knows you're not the only crazy one, and she's not the only wife that has to deal with it. She may never approve of ridin', but she just might gain a little understanding. Take it easy.

Ben, I was trying to explain to my wife exactly what happened and why I did reacted how I did when I was out there. I grew up in Northern Colorado and am very familiar with "white outs" and that was the only way I could explain to her what it was like. It was very flat, not level, but flat colored, blended together.

She is very emotional and was very worried and concerned for me, and being 3 states away made it tough on her. She'll be walking in the door any minute. We've discussed the whole quad riding thing and she understands that it's not just going to go away.

I walked out to the trailer to take a look at my quad. Other than being driven in to my place, it hasn't been touched, unloaded or anything. There are a few black marks on the outside of the right rear fender and there are some on the left fender next to the seat in that little groove. There was a bunch of sand on the front master cylinder and all over the gas tank. I don't know what would've made those marks out in the dunes, but other than the few marks, there's no damage or anything, looks like it's waiting for a rider.

I felt like I had to write that detail about what happened to help get it off my chest. I can remember it vividly right now and it helps to get it out about what happened. In one thought I feel so lucky, and then in another thought, I feel like I let myself down. It helps to put it into detail like that.

All you guys, thanks for your kind words.

My gawd! I havent been here much the last 2 days and it looks like the shit hit the fan!

I'm very glad to hear your doing better Scott. Hopefully you heal fast!

I think what you explained in your first post is what my friends out west describe about how the dunes go flat when the sun is directly overhead. There are no shadows so drop offs, witches eyes and whatnot cant be seen. The dunes look flat! I never experienced it until my last trip to Dumont. You can get it at any dune.... but it makes you think twice once you experience it for yourself.

On a side note... its easier to say than do but dont worry about your bike.. there will be time to take care of that when your feeling better!

Good luck and god bless (its obvious he was looking out for you)

Get well soon

Walter

Glad to hear that you are ok and resting somewhat comfortably.

I know that everytime I come home with a new bump or bruise my wife vows to make me sell my shee, but She always gives in when I'm all healed up.

Just remember to ride the sympathy train as long as you can..LOL

Feel Better and take it easy,

Dan

Yeah, pretty decent. Sleeping is still awfully hard, but once I get up in the morning and loosen up, I'm okay.
