Hockey390
sorry for this, I really hate chain emails... But I was sent this, and follow it if you wish, forward it if you wish, or whatever.. Dont get mad at me for forwarding it on please.. I intend no harm. I actually would like to know why gas prices are so high... so if you know a reason, list it... but if you think the reason is (sp?) gouging, forward it on, who knows..maybe it will work? ________________________________________________________ IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES. AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES. THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR behind " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT. WAITING ON THIS ADMIINSTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO? REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" _______________________________________________________________
dogboystoy
I have seen these before, the problem is, we will eventually need to buy gas. And even if we dont buy gas on one day, we will buy it the next day. Now If everyone in the USA took a weeks vacation at the same time, stayed home and didnt buy gas, I bet that would do the trick. wesw
want to hear some truth about oil refineries. my dad works at one in kansas. they are making 16$ a barrel of oil a day of profit. that profit. they are a 100000 barrel oil a day ref. 1.6 millon a day is what they are making. last quarter they made 35 million dollar and what was weird they were on turnaround for about 2 month, which they shut parts of it down for maintaince. as to opec controlling supply, if they slow production down it usually take 3 months for that oil to reach the refineries. plain and simple it is price gouging, and its not going to get better with bush and cheney in the white house. both are big oil people. also i payed 1.98 per gal today. took 42 buck to fill my truck up. trail rider
Where I get gas it is about $1.94. That may not sound as bad as other places but its the highest I have ever seen it. I've been trying to cut back on riding every evening after school so that I have money to buy gas for my truck to get to school. I'm already getting into my savings to buy gas and if it gets higher I may just have to ride the fuckin bus

Hockey390
Ok, I have a friend that did a little research on the topic... As much as this may be a bad comment for a GUY to make.. she is really fucking smart, basically she took that email and told me, your retarded... thats not true. Read it, and start letting people know the truth. (comment to every part of the chain letter) Oh, just a comment about people bashing bush... Lets just remember that we as a country voted him in, if you dont want war, vote your democratic ways, and have fun with it. We fight for our freedom, and thats why we are the united states.. A country that if you want to go outside and run around in your yard all day, or ride your banshee in piece, you can do. If you lived in a country where freedom was not offered (iraq) you wouldnt have your banshee's. We dont fight just to fight, its called trying to make the WORLD a better place, so other countries dont get pissed at us for being so much better then them. If we want to sit back and relax, let iraq do as they please, they will eventually migrate to other countries, and soon enough they will be here. While they are here, we can expect less jobs, which in turn makes minimum wage go back down, and gas go up... So, tell me what bush has done wrong, and have something to back it up other then, "i dont like him". ______________________________________________________________ "Reason" One: IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES. Reality of "Reason" One: "Crude oil prices have stayed higher than expected, in part because it's taken longer to get Iraq back on line. In addition, about 300,000 to 400,000 barrels daily of Nigerian oil production are curtailed because of local political turmoil. At the same time, Venezuelan oil production has not returned to pre-strike levels. And on top of everything else, OPEC has cut back on quotas, says John Felmy, chief economist at the American Petroleum Institute (API)." So, basically, if we all cut back on gas for one day the oil companies would not see any backlash whatsoever...due to the abundance of gas they are retaining from the United States. "Reason" Two: AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES. Reality of "Reason" Two: God knows who wrote this email and god knows where they came up with this figure. Because if the first reason they offer is countered...which it is, with the evidence I provided...then it's basically bullshit. THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR behind " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY. ....haha THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT. ...yeeeeah. WAITING ON THIS ADMIINSTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO? ...Arab nations are who we're currently fighting with. Not only that, but wouldn't a further attempt to ban usage of the gas they are supposedly providing us piss them off? Even then, they won't even feel the "backlash" this entire email is using as reason for a gas ban...the whole point is that they have an excess they aren't allowing us...so if we don't use what we have how does that have an effect on them? WE DO! ...All of this is because of the very first piece of info I have in this email... WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. ....That, as I have pointed out would be pointless. They don't care. Our gas suppliers have all the gas they need...like a HUGE goldmind (foreign countries). They won't be losing a dime actually, on the contrary, it would be American companies losing money, which would basically be us hurting ourselves...if you look at something like this in the long long long long run it's sort of far-fetched but at the same time somewhat probable...it could actually be the spawn of a depression, stock markets could possibly crash if the source of all of our energy was knocked out due to profit-loss...etc. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" ....Sooo basically this email is useless. Hope this helps

Hockey390
and why do they pull you over...? Because they cant be riden on the road..?
Cotton eyed Joe
I have an observation. Everyone talks about the price of GAS, and then bashes Bush/Cheney etc......We buy OIL from the other countries and refine it here into gas, but oil is used make textiles like carpet, nylon, polyester, plastics, and on and on. The price of shirts, motor oil, the plastic that I machine in the shop, and carpet haven't skyrocketed have they? Not that I've really noticed. They all use oil to be produced. I think its just price fixing on the part of US Refineries.
