oldturtle
basically suzuki and kawi have merged just that suzuki is boss so they decide what to produce thats why they don;t have a suzuki 700.. but i garantee when suz.. come out with a 450 the kfx will be right behind and the same bike just green instead of yellow Not exactly. They havn't merged and Suzuki is far from being THE BOSS. These are huge multi product corporations. They have only entered into a joint developement, manufacturing, and marketing agreement to help share the very high development costs of new products and to make there motorcycle/ATV operations more competitive with Honda and Yamaha. The big profit products so far to be shared are the Kawi developed and manufactured large V-twin road cruisers. Another big market is the tidler class of 50, 70, 100cc bikes. The 4-stroke MX bikes, sport quads, and utility quads came along next. I always had an aversion to Suzuki products in the past because of sloppy details compared to Honda and Yamaha such as low quality fasteners and poor fit/finish. But this may have changed for the better with the need to satisfy the other partner. But for me if I wanted a 400 sport quad for trail riding the Suzi/Kawi/Artic cat is hard to beat with electric start and reverse. I just hope they keep the electric start with reverse option for the trail riders and slow guys and then have a real lightweight barnburner fullrace model also just to keep Honda and Yamaha on their toes. Nothing brings out the best like real competition.

Kinda like how they have the YZ and WR motorcylces, Same basic platform but moddified for track and woods. the could call the quad the WFR450 When suzuki comes out with there new racer they will kinda have that..the LTZ being based on the DRZ and the new quad based on the RMZ. Although i doubt the new one will have a decent width and suspention still.
Ducman
If it is anything like the streetbike wars, Yamaha had the R1 and was the untouchable openclass liter bike and then Suzuki topped it with a lighter more powerful GSXR 1000, so I wouldn't put it past Suzuki to be able to top the YZF450R. coolhead03
Maybe suzuki will decide it is their time to shine. Honda did it in the early 80's then yamaha started a serious comp with them and is winning, maybe suzuki will start to make a serious effort. That kind of competition will only mean better atv's,better prices, nothing wrong with that
