jaysea1 Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Just wanted to know which filter set-up is better. Pro-flow K&N 2 into 1, with lid off air box, or twin K&N clamp on's, no air box. Which gives better flow. Will be buying pipes soon. Open terrain riding and dunes. Quote
Black&Blue00 Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 well for sure the clamp on twins would give more flow but i would get sum outter wears no matter what way you go and i would leave the box if you ride at all in any mud or water Quote
ledofthezep Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 My vote would be a Toomey 2:1 with a UNI filter. Quote
phonebem Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 If you ride in sand only, K&N pods with Outerwears. If you ride mud, box with Uni filter. Quote
banshdog Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 If you decide on the K&N's, let me know. I have the filters that fit stock carbs, and the outerwears that fit them, for sale. Quote
Banshee~ Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 I would get K&N 2in1 With an oversized filter. They also have a powerlide that replaces your snorkle which give you more protection Quote
Rescuejeff Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 My vote would be for the K&N with a Outwear. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 i'd go with the 2 clamp ons with outewears Quote
Banchetta Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 I always have to jet higher for the twin k&n's....Paul Turner suggest to leave the box on for tract length...Toomey suggest they have the perfect tract length and better velocity, but from dyno testing, they are both full of shit...I haven't seen one bit of difference w/ or w/o the box.....So if you want the absolute most hp and torque, get the twin pods, if you ride in mud or water, then run the box w/ a cut lid... Oilsmoke Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 So if you want the absolute most hp and torque, get the twin pods There is also a weight savings with this setup too. My shee is strip down about 300 pounds. Horsepower to wieght ratio another part to consider. All that you can saves will add up. Air box, intake boots, metal brackets, Lid K&N pods and outwears are great setup for sand. Quote
