Percy
Hi, From memory on other bikes, the exhaust is held onto the head with two bolts. On my Banshee it just seems to be held on with the springs (2 per side). When the silencers are off, if I wiggle the main part of the pipe, it seems to be able to pull away from the head quite easy (one side seems easier that the other side) Does not pull completely away, just sort of opens up on one side, if you wiggle the pipe that way. Any advice? or is this OK? Do the springs need replacing from time to time? The bike is an 01, I have had it 6 weeks. Cheers,
frocashmoney24
springs do need replaceing, but where the pipes connect to the frame, try messin with that and maybe u can get it closer to the jugs
hyper_yfz350
This is normal. The springs should be replaced every time you replace the pipe gaskets. It's a good idea to replace the silencer packings at this time as well. From my experience, the springs, gaskets and packings should be replaced every year at least. Fresh packings will keep up the performance of your shee. Good luck.
J..J.
I reckon if it's not leaking then don't mess with it. BTW sealing is done with o-rings...

Percy
Thanx for all the info. I repacked the silencer, put new springs and re did all the seals this weekend. Exhaust is not leaking at all now and the shee feels much better. (Maybe it is just my imagination after all the work!) Thanks
