alba_banshee
My friend just picked up an f-150 that's set up for offroad but it lacks a roll cage. Can anyone give me some info on building one. Looking for info on tube size and wall thickness. Also general design and layout.
alba_banshee
Has anyone built any kind of a roll cage? Any information will help, or maybe a website you know of.
Dune Ratt
Check around on the net for the Score Truck rules and regs. F150 are very popular and the guidlines set by score truck are used in many competitive racing regs. If a cage is good enough to handle 80mph through the desert then it should hold up to day to day truama!
evil
hey alba, shoot me a pm as to where i can reach you at and we can go over a few things on this truck. ill leave it at that for now but i have all the info you need and want to know about caging a truck for off road racing, rock crawling or anything. later
CP5899
What are you building the cage for? If its for drag then I have seen a few done. I have been needing to put one in my twin turbo lightning so they will let me run at the track, but I like having it look like a sleeper on the street. I also don't want two kicker bars coming out of my back window. I do have some pics of cages in the trucks if you are interested though. evil
keep in mind donny is a simple guy that just wanted to run a straight cage on the street, so they cut apart the stock bed and hung the panels on it to make it look halk way street legal. ill get a pic of it when its complete and he has the tires mounted on the back with everything painted. the truck really looks good and functions well when it was cycled through.
