It turns out that one of her neighbors has a 400ex.. We raced behind her yard in a long grass straightaway. The path wasn't long enough to get out of 5th gear, but it wasn't even close. I think his bike was stock, and mine is just piped (FMF Fatty's) and jetted. What a rush! With the Razr 2's I just put on yesterday, the front wheels were coming up with every shift. I almost felt bad for smoking him like that. He bought his bike brand new this year for more than I paid for my 03 as it is (minus the rear tires) Woo! I was riding in the dunes a couple of days ago, and raced two Honda 450r's and blow them away. It was great ... 2 strokes all the way!! I hope that someone might develop an eco-friendly fuel injection system system for a 2 stroke someday to keep them around. I know Bimota tried to develop a system for a 500cc V-4 GP street bike called the V-doo in the late 90's. It would inject at a specific time right into the cylinder like when the piston was near the bottom of its travel so that almost no unburnt fuel would get pushed into the exhaust or something like that. It was a big complicated fuel map and they never could work all the bugs out of it other than it ran great at WOT like a 2 stroke should. Unfortunately with all it's low rpm injection bugs it made for an unfriendly grocery getter with a huge price tag so it never caught on. From a rolling start it would put a R-6 to shame.
