Wassup350
I know its a little early to be speaking of this but i'm planning on buying a new snowmobile this fall. I've narrowed my choices down to either the Polaris XCSP 600 or the SkiDoo MXZ rev 600 sdi. Both sleds are around the same price. I'm just wondering if any of you have experience with the Ski-doo. I have ridden the Polaris before only it was an 800 and i also have ridden the 500. I have heard a lot of good things about the skidoo. so what do yall think? I think the ski doo motors are more reliable and just a better overall motor. Also, I personally think the stock handling on the Ski Doo is better. nater006
Got a '94 Skidoo Formula STX at the parents place (Bombadier Rotax 583) and it flat out flies. Would pick the Skidoo over the P'naris a thousand times over... used to work at a Pnaris dealer previously, but still rode the Skidoo
Wassup350
Yea i think im leaning towards ski-doo. I currently have an XCR 440sp and its so outdated that anything new would be good at this point. Around where i live thousands of snowmobilers come through every year so you can imagine how the trails look every weekend till they groom em. I think the rev will suit my needs. SO I AM GOING TO SELL IT IN THE FALL, AND GET A REV 800, SKI-DOO THAT IS!! I HAVE RODE ALOT OF DIFFERENT SLEDS, I HAVE A FRIEND THAT OWNS A POLARIS/ARCTIC PUSSY DEALER AND HAVE TEST DROVE PRETTY MUCH ALL THEIR DEMO MODELS, OTHER THAN SKI-DOO MAYBE A POLARIS. I HAVE JUST OVER 5400 MILES ON MY MACHZ AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS. HOPE THIS HELPS.
Meat_Head
I wouldnt buy a Ski-doo that uses their SDI technologie yet, so far they havent had great success reliability wise with them...Alot of them blow up before they hit 2000 miles while many of those who dont, have lost alot of compression at this point, for some reasons they have serious premature ring wear problems dont ask me why but its a fact for now at least.I am sure they will improve on the system and will become very reliable in time but for now if you want to buy a Ski-doo sled id stick with the models using the proven DPM system. The XCSP 600 is not on par technology wise with the Ski-doo REV or the Firecat 600 but will bring bullet proof reliabilty while still being a more than decent trail sled.Out of those two sleds id choose the Polaris because of the reliability factor even if in reliality the REV is a better sled.Personnally last april i snow checked a green F7 EFI Snopro, cant wait to ride the thing.
