Wiseco Hot Rods Crank

i just blew a top end and when i went to replace it i noticed that the rod moved moved up and down about 1/8 of an inch. i came to the conclusion that it was a bearing in the rod. i called the local shop and they don't know what the hell they are talking about. they told me it was better to buy a new crank than rebuild one on a twin cylinder engine. i see that they sell new replacement rods and bearings. i figured that nobody would have a banshee if everytime you have to replace a crank pin bearing you had to buy a new crank. i need help because i don't want to have to buy a new crank. they said it will have to be pressed on. i don't know if they were talking about the big crank bearing or the bearing in the rod. i just want to know what i have to do to replace this bearing.

If you are talking about the wrist pion bearing than you can go to our local parts dealer and get them to order the bearing if you are taking about the rod bearing on the carnk then yeah you are better off buying a new crank vitos makes a keyed one for a descent price.

Yeah, they are right just do the math. A new rod and bearing is about 90 a piece so 180 plus about 200 labor to split the crank and repress it. Then you should buy new bearings while its apart. That's almost $500 when you can get a Wiseco Hot rod for $300 on ebay.
