meanv10
Ya you guys, Bush is the reason for high gas prices. ( and Katrina, and AIDS and everything else that happens shitty in life) Utter ignorance Look at china and india now that they are in the industrial revolution stage of there country there energy need shave gone through the roof, both countries have over a billion and they all want to drive. Diesel went up before gas because that's what China needed most to run there heavy equipment, add to that the fact that the EPA now requires USLD diesel that has under 15 ppm sulfur in every gallon, along with stricter regulations on different blends of gas going to different regions of the country. Ya thats gona help cut more of the supply out of the simmple suply and demand equation that makes up the sails of petro. The most recent reason that gas has gone through the roof is because Russia tried to enact a wind fall profits tax on domestic oil, Forecasters were predicting that Russia would keep increase petro out put for the next 30 years, this year there oil output dropped by 1% not a lot but when your thinking Millions of barrels a day it is. Everyone wants to save the environment but no one wants to pay the price. Wana save fricken caribou and sand turtles, then dont allow drilling in ANWR or Colorado or the gulf of Mexico. and be prepared to pay 4$ a gallon. Durang the 90's take for example Michigan, we had 5 refineries, we now have none. they were all shut down by the EPA and fined out of existence. Bottom line i there needs to be more refineries built, but when over a 1/4 of the initial cost of building a refiner goes to taxes no ones going to. same thing goes for nuclear. And the price of everything is going up last year at this time i was selling Plate and Structural steel for 220 a ton its now selling for 350. things arnt going to get cheaper and if you want to keep blaming bush go for it, it wont solve anything. 2001Stroker
I just had to dig this thread outta the grave. Regular gas got up to just over $4 this summer. But has dropped so much within the last 2 months, that it's $1.85ish. 110 Race fuel went from about $7.67, down to around $6.29.
