Cotton eyed Joe
Does it still only work with the older systems? I used to know someone that did it with an older system, and I almost bought the shit I needed, but then didn't. I kind of wish I had since I hate everything on cable except the Dave Chappelle show. If you have an older reciever the cards should still work, I'm pretty sure.

dnhyoung
the title says it all. If you know what I mean, get back to me. Ya, righ tnow the Hu cards are being killed off, and they are converting everyone over to the new P4 and the P5 card. Heres the info that the site I belong to has posted: DTV has turned the authorization for HU cards off on all channels except 100 and 201. Our P4 support Status : As you may have heard the P4s are scurrently being programmed. So we all know the technology is available. We are still looking into which system will be easiest to implement for us and our current members. There are several things to consider at this point. We are hoping to acquire software that will allow members to use their HU loaders with a new P4 flash as opposed to having to get new P4 loaders. We will keep you posted. We have a few offers that we are looking at to provide us P4 support. As most of you might guess, the costs are outrageous. We feel that at this time we need our members to stick with us and maintain their memberships as we are sure we will have some kind of P4 support in the near future. If the P4 support is not implemented in a reasonable amount of time we are willing to extend memberships. Anyone have any questions just ask
boonman
HU and "black Sunday" cards are done. P4 is the next Gen, and the "test" is still yet to be found....
Yamahammer
samr here hu and h cards are done waiting on the new stuff to trickle down and start all over again
banshee370
Dammmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt know we had this many "testers" here HU's are now ice scrapers.... and as for buying equipment... Lets just say that the ONLY way I would ever try that again is if I can hand someone cash and walk away... And of course I would never do such a thing! Mr.Dave sent me one of "THOSE" letters of extorsion........ As of right now... most people I have "heard of" are going the dish network route. The p4's last I knew were not compromised and the hardware/software needed is still big coin. **According** to what I read on some site somewhere on the net... The P4's can be "read" with current hardware but "DAVE" has security measures that make it extremely hard to enter w/o making it into an ice scraper or locking the card so that only "dave" can re-open it. "Dave" also stopped having their cards produced elsewhere and are now doing it all in house (so to speak) (p5) Not that I would do that either but thats just what I've heard. ps: kiss my ass dave
boonman
Sounds like you don't like Dave. But yea, there is always the Canadian Dish Network for those that can "test" it. Hrmmm, Canada is about 15 minutes from me.....
stealthawd
I got one of those "letters" from them and we bought a reader/writer to work on security options for a local sheriff's department. I get this letter from "Dave" telling me they are going to prosecute me unless I pay them $20k. I called the number and told them to f*ck off, my lawyer already had the letter in hand. Haven't heard anything else back from them. This was about two months ago.
