oldturtle Posted May 4, 2004 Report Share Posted May 4, 2004 I just ordered some small stuff from Toomey, a standard twist throttle and tors eliminator kit. And surprise, they had the courtesy to notify me that they are on a short back order and will be shipped in a few weeks. Quite a difference from the treatment I got last month when I ordered a set of nerf bars from Gradon Proline. Nothing arrived for a few weeks and when I telephoned they said they were on backorder. Seems like most mail order companies will not tell you if something is backordered. Even if you phone order and ask if item is in stock they usually give you a ration of crap and say its in when it is not. Well thanks Kim @ Toomey. Hockey390 Posted May 4, 2004 Report Share Posted May 4, 2004 its because if they tell you its on backorder you will cancel (more times than not) but if they dont tell you, and the product is entered into the computer...your locked into the sale and will have to pay to have them "re"stock it...bastards I ordered a part for a friend and then they said it was backordered, I called them to tell them to cancel, and they didnt...got the product 3 weeks later and saw the bill on the credit card. needless to say, i never told them to cancel it... and it would be 15% to restock it and $30 for shipping.... grr Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I didnt get any responce for about 3 days then a whole sticker kit showed up at my door. I only needed a couple silencer stickers but they sent me the whole kit. I ordered lots of stuff from toomey and she informed me aswell about a backorder. And when the stuff arrived at my doorstep i was missing some parts, I had an email which said those items (magnetic drain plug and some other unimportant parts) where out for a extended period of time. i received a toomey t-shirt as compensation.
