JARE77 Posted May 3, 2004 Report Share Posted May 3, 2004 When you least expect it shit happens. I spent my friday night in the O.R. getting pins and screws to hold my wrist together, ouch! I caught an old railway tie that was hidden in the long grass with one front tire,and slam the bike fliped and flopped and i came out with a f'd up wrist. Just remember it could happen at any time, I've owned my shee for 6 years and this is the first time she's bitten me that hard. Ride safe cause broke bones SUCK! Goin' a little too fast around the corner and went off the trail 3 feet... just enough to get the front wheels under the log. Someone chopped the tree down and left it attached to the trunk so it was about 18" off the ground but just below the tops of the tall grass. That one didn't hurt fortunately. Then there was the granite boulder just off the trail in the tall grass... That didn't hurt either but the rim didn't like it. Then there was a hole in the middle of a field where someone dug out a bush or was gonna bury their dog or what ever but hit that doin' about 50 and almost lost it. I guess the common denominator here is WATCH OUT IN THAT TALL GRASS. I'm a slow learner but I think I'm starting to get it OH yeah... and stay ON the trail Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Posted May 3, 2004 Report Share Posted May 3, 2004 That sucks man.....lesson learned, In high grass (or pretty much any riding for that matter, including motorcycles on the road) always do a drive thru before you rip through it. ledofthezep Posted May 3, 2004 Report Share Posted May 3, 2004 yepper, high grass can be a bitch. Last summer I was in 3rd WOT & launched into an old silage pit that has been there for years. I knew it was there but you couldn't see it...I thought I was steared away for it & actually was going strait at it. Was going to fast to stop,...so 'when in doubt, power out' & that's just what I did, landed level on the other side of the pit that angles up at about a 45 degree angle, bottomed out the F&B suspension and took a tank to the nuts, jammed the wrists but was able to escape without any broken bones.
