grounded
What kind of difference in revs did you see on the bottom end?

94BansheeRider
I had mine done a few months ago. Seems to rev up quicker (less mass to spin).

SICK BOY
I have mine done, and it gets to the power band faster. I think it's well worth the money to get it done.
Mr.Giggles
I have two Banshee's ,one with the flywheel lightened and one not,jab the throttle on each one sitting at idle in neutral and there is a big diff on the qickness in revs with the one that's lightened. Well worth the coin.
boonman
Not only does it perform better in neutral, but you should try riding it!!!!!!!!!
BrokeStonedBiker
hey boonman? i dont know whenill get around to lightening my flywheel but when i do i would like to know how to do it. i would send it to you but i would rather do it myself though if i decide to shave the head i will be sending that to you for sure. how do you measure 8oz's? can you just take .01-.03 off of it and b safe? i do most of the leath work that my bosses shop, but i dont know hoe exactly you do it? do you actually figure out the math of of the thing like with the mass of the object mathamatically? do you eight the shaving on a scale? lol. and what if its off .001. wont this unevenness creat stress on certain parts? if you could PM me when ya get a chance i would appreciate it. thanks
boonman
I'd PM ya, but I figure I might as well post it... I didn't do the math, I just machined as much as I could off of it, and then weighed it. You could do it at your boss's work, a lathe is what you need. BUT, you also need an arbor. Can/do you feel comfortable cutting a taper? I can give you final dimensions. But machining a chatter free part is half the battle.....
Cannon
I'm going to find out real soon how a lightened flywheel does on my Banshee. Boonman just finished mine today, then he shipped it back out the same day. There is no faster turn around than that. I'll let you know what difference I can tell on mine soon. Thanks Boonman for the work and getting it out so quickly. Edited May 4, 2004 by Cannon

Hockey390
I had my flywheel lightened and my head milled .020 over (wish I woulda done .030 but only because I love the results i got and want more.. ) but I was extremely suprised when I got my shee back together and riding.. I would say that without a doubt, it was worth the money to have it done, its probably dollar for dollar the best mod i've done, which isnt saying much because I havent done any other engine mods, but I loved the results...
