Speaking Of Dynoing...

Recommended Posts

I'm getting ready to go get dynoed this week. There is a guy who will meet people at the stealership, your house, or where ever, he has a portable dyno. Anyone have any experience with this, is it "trustable"? I'm going to be trying to get all the power out of my machine i can, i'm not adding anything, just rejetting for the warmer temps and seeing what i can do for her.

Any tips on what the best way to go about it is and what to start with or just anything in particular? I know how to read sheets, but that's about all the expertise I have, so I just wanted to check first to be fully prepared.

Later.

Those portable dynos are pretty cool. They use 'em on go-karts, sleds, jet skis, quads... Instead of taking the motor out and hooking up to a test stand with a water brake, they just hook the water brake up to a drive axle or output shaft. I would think they are "trustable" seeing they are the same thing only portable. As long as the guy knows what he is doin and takes care of his equipment you should get good results.

Ya what Stuff said, but I wouldn't trust the number too much. I tuned my shee on the dyno and it said I had 47hp's, which is off because my bikes ported, has 35mm carbs and all that good stuff. Just use it as a tuning device and don't worry bout the number, every dyno is different.
