spoin39
A friend and I are taking a trip to Bar Harbor, Maine in june (13-15). We are going on bikes (CBR954RR/ZX9) and would like to know of any special places, things to see, etc. Also of any good roads we can enjoy (preferably curvy and scenic). Any info on this would be greatly appreciated! If you live close, maybe I'll buy you lunch somewhere and talk about our quads and rides. We are leaving Indiana on the 12, going east to D.C. and on to the coast. Then head up N. to Bar Harbor for a day or so and on to Niagra Falls, into Canada and back S. through Detroit and bacck home by the 20th. About a 3500mi. ride, my ass will be sore after that long on a crotch-rocket, but WHAT THE HELL! Thanks for any info, tips you guy's give me! spoin39
Well, do you know of anything special I should see while there?
Banchetta
Maine doesn't have much, but fishing ports....We have a ton of them....Bar Harbor has some really nice scenery w/ the rocky costline and a lot of fishing boats....The autumn scenery is the best in Maine w/ the colored leafs...but that won't be until Sept.-Oct.....You could swing by Old Orchard Beach which is 5 minutes from me...Its a small stretch of beach w/ amusement rides, food, etc....kinda of like a fair, but it doesn't move.... The Kangamangos Highway in NH is a nice ride. We usually take that route when we ride our bikes....Fast and curvy, just watch out for highway patrol.... There isn't much population north of Portland and there isn't much for terrain until you go west into the mountains...I'll think about it and get some more info for you.. spoin39
Thanks banchetta, i would love to see some pics. If you are available around the 15-16 of june, you should show us around some roads! Would like to meet you and ride a little. What bike do you have? Later

spoin39
I'm not sure, it depends on work. I would love to go, Rod asked me if I wanted to go. I'll have to see if I can hook up with someone around close that is going. Thanks for the info on maine, I can't wait to go!
stogy3
when you get there find rt 1 south and then get on rt 1a south and follow the coast line down to hampton beach. The ride there will be very enjoyable. Some nice twisties. Hampton beach on a nice weekend night is very busy. I don't know how old you guys are but if you are in early twenties you will have a good time there. If it is busy there you will sit in traffic from people just cruzzin around the strip. Ussualy tons of bikes.
spoin39
Great, thanks for the info so far, keep it coming! I am 32 (going on 23!) so the Hampton area sounds great! We are actually coming up on 1 after we leave Cape Cod in Jersey.
