sredish
I'm looking to get a new 200 watter and will be ordering the adj. timing plate also. I saw that Ricky Stator now offers a flywheel with "heavier magnets" to give a lot more lightt in the lower rpms, which I would really like. I would like to have boonman either 1) lighten my current flywheel or 2) lighten the RS flywheel before it's all installed. My concern is that I don't know if it's possible or more difficult to lighten the flywheel with more / heavier magnets. I don't know where you pull the weight off exactly and if the additional magnets would be a problem. Almost forgot, anyone see on of these flywheels in action or done something similar? I'm wondering how much it really helps and how much extra "low rpm" light I'll get and if it's worth it. Later. Rescuejeff
Sredish thanks for asking all the questions I'm thinking about for my change to the lighting system to my wifes bike. I will be looking at all your replies as well.
boonman
I am not sure about the RS flywheel. I don't think I will be ligthtening them. Now, I can tell you that I have a 200W stator with a stock lightened flywheel, and I am running 2 Hella lights, and it is more than enough. I can't see a reason to go to he ricky stator heavier magnet flywheel if there is nothing wrong with yours?
sredish
cool thanks. the more i've thought about it, i'm gonna pass and just stick with the stocker. i'll let you know boonman, when I'm gonna send 'er, probably in a few weeks. Yamahammer
I just recieved that full 200 watt adjustable fly whell package i will take pics of both sside by side when i rip it apart i was going to have boon man lighten it also but he has never done one i guess i can be the first.. ( does that mean i get a hook up) I should have it apart later this week i will also try to measure them for the weigth differance
boonman
Only problem is hammer, I don't know how thick the magnets are. I know where they are on a Shee wheel, and on an RZ wheel, It took some to figure it out, and some to get replacements for the . Either way, i don;'t think i would lighten a RS heavy magnet flywheel. I just don't want to take the risk.
