bakedmonkey
ok what will i have to do to supercharge my machine and what kind of super charger
Banshee Flyer
I'm not sure if you can, but if you can it'll be VERY expensive.
locogato11283
i think youd be way better off puttin a turbo on. i think the most efficient superchargers are belt driven and that may be kind of hard to achieve on a banshee.
mybadbanshee
I SAW A PICTURE OF A BLASTER WITH A TURBO ON IT, HE USED THE TURBO OFF AN OLD CARAVAN AND DID THE DUCT WORK HIMSELF.IM SURE YOU COULD DO SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES.ANY SMALL TURBO WOULD PROBABLY WORK
bakedmonkey
the only thing with a turbo is that you would have to pressurize the carbs the charger ... my buddy works at a rebuilding plant so i could probably get one for a case of beer so that covers the espensive part
MULLET~BOY
turbo's and two strokes don't mix well i know of builders who really know there shit and still can't get there turbo bikes running perfect there a pain if your after alot of power just get a cheetah set up with a 10mm stroker crank
ursombc22
i was at glamis two years ago and the king of the hill was a turbo banshee. it was a slug out of the hole but as soon as the turbo spooled up no one could touch it. if you can make a turbo work, go for it. NYUK
seems most of the big named builders did the turbo bikes, when they ran they were unreal.but you needed to be a rocket scientist to keep them running.mostly everyone gave up and is going the displacement route now.big cc`s,triples, ect.a supercharger is not out of the question yet.i have heard of a few in the works. frocashmoney24
i'd probably be easier throwing in a crotchrocket engine and putting a turbo on that, if u wanna stick with the shee, im sure most are doin displacement and cc's like nyuk said, and one question, how come that shee with the turbo is using a 2-1 pipe? Cotton eyed Joe
i'd probably be easier throwing in a crotchrocket engine and putting a turbo on that, if u wanna stick with the shee, im sure most are doin displacement and cc's like nyuk said, and one question, how come that shee with the turbo is using a 2-1 pipe? You have to go 2:1 then into the turbo to get the desired effect. On Turboed V-8's they take 4 into 1 then into the turbo on each side. If not then you would have to have 2 turbo chargers and 15 times the headaches on a Banshee Personally if I were to go the forced induction route I'd choose nitrous. Mainly because of the hassles of routing oil lines, inter coolers, parts and labor etc etc. Plus you don't have turbo lag or in the case of a super charger, the charger consuming most of what its making at idle just to turn the thing over. With N02 you can have multiple stages for different rpms etc. It can get complicated, but imho its a cleaner cheaper instal. Not that its any easier to get set up though. All that money you saved might just go to pistons and cranks. Edited May 10, 2004 by Cotton eyed Joe

Ducman
Turbos need hot expanding gasses to always go in the same direction (out of the cylinder and not backwards) to spool the turbine wheel which is why I think they make much more sense on a 4 stroke. Pipes on a banshee push exhaust gasses back into the cylinder before the piston closes the exhaust port which boosts cylinder pressures way up, basically doing a similar job as a turbo except your not getting as much fresh air in as with the turbo. Having a turboed 2 stroke would be like having a turbo and a supercharger at the same time. I guess that behind the expansion chamber the exhaust gasses must always be flowing out and not backwards like near the head. I think it would be a nightmare to tune a turbo 2 stroke because the exhaust is being handled in a completely different manner in which 2 stroke cylinders are made to handle. It must work well when done correctly though because I knew a guy that had a lot of cool toys and he said he had a turboed Kawi tripple that would lift the front end off the ground and do a no clutch power wheelie at 100mph. I think if you could find a way to supercharge a banshee it would be a lot easier to tune than a turboed banshee.
