banshdog
Me an my friend were up at Higgins lake just out messin around in a sand pit area, we take off and come out to a small dirt road, look back and a conservation officer is coming after us. Thought about bolting but i dont know the area. anyway we stop, and his back up comes flyin in, and starts bitching at us for being on the road. Well we both got tickets for riding in a restricted area, $135, bullshit. but i guess thats better than getting the ticket for riding on the road. that ticket is a misdemeanor charge, points on ur license, fines, and possible 90 days! they were just happy to give us tickets and make some money, then they just left and let us ride on the road and back to the truck. jerkoffs. Man that sucks. I didn't realize that a ticket for riding on the road was so crazy. I'm one of those jackasses that runs from them every chance I get (except at Silver Lake). Most of my riding is in the Ludington area near the parents place. The closest call was when I was younger and riding a little ATC70 and the DNR came up behind me when riding the shoulder of a road. took off through some farm land. They only pursue so far The cops on the other hand... 3 days after buying my first CR500.. lemme tell you the wheelies were addicting! Riding the road was a great time. Had the county sheriff's dept looking for me for a couple hours after I out ran them. They apparently went up and down a couple country roads asking everybody if they knew who owned the Honda dirtbike. Luckily I'd just bought it. Had a couple run-ins with them but never as bad as the first time. Hehehehe... moral of the story... do the right thing, or be ready to run fast and long, and hide well. An extra set of plastics makes it a little easier
.
man, we ride the streets up at my buddies all the time, dirt roads and paved back roads. The Northeast extension of the Turnpike runs right through his back yard and there are tunnels that run under the turnpike for the creeks. We had this statie in his patrol car bouncing through this cornfield after us the one time....It was kind of hilarious, reminded of dukes n hazards. We just head for the tunnels and then they have to go find a bridge to cross to get to the other side and by then we are longgggggg gone, or the bikes are locked up in the shed and we're in his house playing playstation or something by the time they drive by. I dont even know why they try to chase us anymore. The more sets of plastic, the better. I've switched back and forth a couple times and used different combinations.
