cb67rs1
Dont buy shit from these guys unless you want them to take your money and not give you shit in return! i bought my laptop almost 2 years ago and the dc plug inside the laptop broke, well i went to take it back and they told me i had to call a 1800 number and get a return label to send it back, well they said that they couldnt fix it because they dont cover shit that breaks! after thoroughly reading the warranty agreement it says they do not cover accidental breakage , normal use, natural causes or damage cause by external elements. WTF why did i spend 400 extra dollars when that to me clearly explains that they WILL NOT cover any fucking thing. f*ck them i went to radio shack and tore the laptop apart and put a new plug in it. its working great now. and what pissed me off is i went across to best buy and those bastards says it happens all the time and if i had bought it there they would fix it for free for me. f*ck CIRCUIT CITY

CombatTalon2
Screw both circuit city and best buy, nothing but a bunch of high prices around both those stores! I Saved $300.00 on my camcorder buying it online. Plus i got free shipping, and not Sales Tax. Screw buying form BB or CC!
2001SSTBanshee
Thats probably because its a manufacturers warranty. Ive had terrible experiences with best buy, really. Wal mart if possible!
Cotton eyed Joe
I (heart) WalMart!!!! I stay away from CC and BB now. I haven't bought anything there in over 6 years. The prices are just shitty and no one there knows what the hell they are doing. I returned a set of sub woofers (JBL's that I smoked after 2 days) that they said were under warranty (Circuit Shitty) and when I did the girl at the counter said..."What are these?" Then the manager came over and told the girl that she "would try to figure out what he (points at me) is trying to pull" TRYING TO PULL???? I just bought $400 worth of shitty subs you bitch, and I want to exchange them for something else....THATS WHAT I"M DOING I just exchanged them without saying anything, and when those blew up I never went back. I don't even buy CD's there or anything..... I went to Best Buy when I was looking for a digital camera. I was practically assaulted by sales people, telling me that "This is the last one...YOU BUY NOW!!!" I found one for a better price some where else. Go to bestBuy, start window shopping for something, peel back the protective tape when no one's looking, and take a gander at the product.. you know, just to make sure it's exactly what you want. Then when it is, complain to an employee you found it open, and they will give you an "Open Item" discount. Oh yea, and f*ck Circuit City. boonman
I've never had a problem with circuit city. In 5 years......... Oh well.
fixitrod
I had very similar warranty trouble at circuit city. I bought the best digi video camera they had in stock. $1200. It never worked right. Sent it back and forth to the "tech" for a year and he always said nothing was wrong with it. I could put a tape in it right at the store, record, and it wouldn't play back. They'd send it back with the same result. Ended up buy a $450 camera that has worked perfect. There warranty sucks ass.
boonman
Sounds like manufacturer warranty problems to me...... I have taken shit back to Circuit city and had no problem with exchanging it. I even bought an open box Sony home receiver. Got it gome, and the delay on the surround was all fucked up. I had it a week. I took it back, and they took it on return. Refunded me the entire amount, and I upgraded to a brand new model that was about $300 more... All without a problem. I have bought my in dash head units from Circuit City for awhile now. The last time I got a stereo it was for my S-10 blazer. They had a nice little deal on 2 12" subs, a profile amp, and a sealed MTX enclosure (carpeted). SO, I bought it. I took my receipt to the front pickup counter. They gave me my head unit, and the enclosure. I was thinking it wasa little wierd, because the stereo dude told me to come around back when I got the head unit up front, and he would give me the box, amp and subs and the Polk audio mids I got at the install shop. So I didn't have to drag the shiz through the store. So, I went around back. Out comes my enclosure, speakers and amp. So, I made off with a $100 enclosure for nuthin. I have never had a problem with Circuit City. I don't know why y'all have a problem with them. Lots of places now won't take anything back after a certain time frame. You have to deal directly with the manufacturer for the "manufactorer's warranty". That's just the way it is sometimes.... Maybe the store I go to knows what is up. I also don't trust anyone I talk to at the store. I research shit on my own. Then I know what I want, and I go get it...... no fuss, no muss. fixitrod
Well, it could be the manager of the stores too.
bigboybanshee
Circuit City and Best Buy both can blow me! I have had nothing but repeated bad service from both of the stores with purchasing, returning, and exchanging...the whole experiences were a nightmare. I had bought a head unit from CC (with their full warranty) and 2 weeks later the piece of shit smoked. I take it back with all my receipts, they tell me that they have to ship it off and have one of their "professionals" look at it and determine whether or not to fix it or replace it...So I was like, "How long does that usually take, a few days, weeks?" That fool told me it would take at least a month before they would be able to get something back to me, so in turn I'd be without tunes for a month or more! I asked him if they provide any kind of loaner CD player, considering I just spent $400+ dollars with them and their bullshit warranty, that ass goblin just laughed. I ended up going to a REAL car audio specialist and bought another radio while I had to wait and then sold the brand new head unit that CC gave me a month later which they could have given me at the time of return!! I will NEVER buy anything again from either places...
dogboystoy
I purchased a PDA from circuit city, I had it for a little less than a year and then the screen started to act goofy. So, I went to circuit city thinking they would just give me a new one, and they said the extended warrenty doesnt kick in until the manufacturers warrenty expired. So I had to call Toshiba and they sent me a box, I sent it in to Toshiba and they fixed it for free (replaced the screen). and all is well now. So, I cant complain about them because I didnt get to use their warranty yet. So I guess I still have 2 years left on my PDA at circuit citys expense (if anything goes wrong). NOW, Best Buy: I bought a Logitech wireless controller for my PS2. That started acting goofy, So I took it back, the guy said that since the manufacturers warranty expired (even though it didnt, because i didnt have it for 6 months and the warranty was good for 1 year), the guy said I have to buy a new Best Buy warranty if I want to cover the replacement controller. I told him NO and that if this one acted up I was done with the whole thing. What a dumbass that guy was, the damn controller was still under the manufacturers warranty and, besides I shouldnt have to buy a new best buy warranty anyway. I wanted to kick his ass but, I just left. But I did keep my origional Best Buy Warranty just in case it acts up again. I have had it for over 1 year and have had no problems since. But I dont reccommend buying that controller because the directional pad is misaligned, like you push left and the guy walks up and to the left. And Yes they are all like that. You just have to get used to it.
JTQuad
I went to best buy, bought a digi As well as a extended waranty. Well 4 days later my dumbass drops it and the screen breaks. I told them it wsa liek that when i got it but they told me no way are they fixing it. SO basically i had a useless item and warranty- f*ck them - JT
boonman
So, I guess everyone is trying to get shit replaced like years later.. Except for the couple peeps who had trouble so soon after purchase. I don't know. I have never had an issue. I have taken shit back no questions asked. I don't bother with warranties and extended bull shit. They always give you a hard time years later no matter where you go. With their pro-rated nonsense......... Warranties are worthless nowadays....
