What Truck To Get?

Recommended Posts

really, all of the hd's are pretty good. but since i work at a ford stealership, i would say go w/ a superduty w/ a 6.0. i think they are better than the 7.3, but gets better gas mileage. my grampa has an 02, 250w/ 7.3. his has ok power, but he wants more.lol. reayy, i would go w/ a 6.0. its gotten lots better lately. they fixed the bugs. i have seen a few 7.3's that cant handle chips. we've had a few in that we had to pull the chips out, to make then run.idk what it is, but just my experience. good luc w/ ur chioce. cummins is a strong engine though, but really, test drive bith. and go w/ what ur lil heart desires.

peace out

cool deal boon, i know the guys at national and they are not to far from me so ill be giving them a call as soon as i get my truck in. i also deal alot with deaver and their long travel leafs (150 and ranger have them) and this is how i know they are not a good choice for payload and tongue weight, but damn do they ride nice and have alot of drop out in the air. its pretty much safe to say i will not be airing this truck out anytime soon.

Oh stop it. First thing I did when I pullled my truck out of the garage when it was done was launch it over the RR tracks..... 60 MPH sends you about 6' up, and maybe 30-40' out....... Pretty neat on the pavement!!! Give it time......

After a lot of homework I decided on the F250 crew cab with the long bed. The cab itself seems much bigger than the Silverado 4 door version, and I liked the simplicity of the Ford. If I had it to do over again the only thing I would change is to cough up the extra 6K and get the diesel. I got the big v10 and although it runs strong, it's no match for the deisel towing up the grade coming back from Glamis and it gets kind of old stopping for gas every half hour.

Just picked up my new truck on Thursday.  2003 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab HD, with leather, BOSE stereo, power everything, ridin in style.  Its got the 6.0L in it, havent hauled anything yet, but i love driving it.

Thats funny dude, your 6.0L is a gasser.

We are talking big boy trucks here. :whoa:

6.0L DIESEL power baby!!!!!

I don't know if I agree with the better fuel mileage on the 6.0L.

So far, I am only getting about 14mpg around town. My 7.3L was getting 16-17mpg round town.

Although, I only have 3700miles on my new truck so maybe it will get better.
