First Time Ever On A Shee

Recommended Posts

the first shee I ever rode was a stock shee about six months ago. it was a magical ride. the only other sport quad I had ridden before then was my old piped blaster. I was amazed how quiet the stock shee was. it sounded like soup boiling in a large pan at idle and it gave a low pitched scream at wot. I took a ride and found myself slipping off the back of the quad. the front end came up the first three gears. it just kept revving and pulling like crazy all the way to the top of sixth. It was an eye watering experience that I will never forget. needless to say, I sold the blaster and bought a shee, and I have never looked back. to bad mine doesn't run right now. but i got the parts to fix it today. new crank and rings.

it was a little over 2 years ago. i brought a brand new 2001 blue banshee home. i fired it up and let it idle. it sounded really good. i jumped on it and rode it easy just to get the feel. i ran across our drive at our shop and it was a little dusty and what not, so i thought what the hell and punched it. the ass end went sideways and i about shit my pants. it was the greatest thing i had ever felt. :D

You know, growing up everyone would talk about how fast these things were. All I ever heard was, dude youll get tossed off in the first three seconds, and you'll get your arms ripped right off your body, and comments like that. So as you could imagin I was ready for this. So years latter I bought and rode my first banshee, and I was ready for it, and it did not really give me that shit your pants feeling that everyone one was talking to me about because I was expecting it ya know. Dont get me wrong I love this thing, almost more than life itself, but mine could really use a port and stroke job from Jim. Just need to save the money so I can get my child hood dream, the shit your pants feeling I've been waiting for.

Peace.

I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. I was laughing because I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT THIS BIKE WOULD DO!!!! I was in sand/dirt/grass, and I was amazed that I could turn the wheels at just about any speed under 3rd gear, slam the throttle and it would just turn.......When it would hit the powerband I would slid off onto the grab bar then the front end would come up almost verticle.

I still get that feeling when I ride it on the road in front of my shop. Tar just hooks so good!!! I can be about 1/2 throttle in 3rd and just blip the front end into a wheelie.

God I can't wait to go to the dunes again......

I first rode a banshee in the summer of 2001 when i bought mine.Fastest thing i ever rode before that was a mojave. When i first unloaded it off the truck,i went out on a dirt road that went into an open hard top road.So needless to say i opened it up,and it scared me a little when the powerband kicked in.But i loved every second of it.Ever since i've been adding the mods to keep that scared feeling going.

My Warrior was falling apart and needed a good bit of change to get back up to spec, so I figured, "With the money I'll have to spend to fix this thing I can get a used Banshee." A friend of mine saw my future Shee in a local shop and told me about it. I looked at it through the window that night, and came back the next day for a closer look. It looked good and the price was right so I asked for a test ride. Dude refused to let me ride it saying they don't let people test ride Banshees. So I went to the bank and got a loan. Then came back the next day with check in hand, so dude let me ride it. I had never ridden a Banshee before so when I started putting around I was like, "this isn't so bad."... then "WEEEEEE!". The powerband kicked in and my ass hit the grab bar. I slowly turned it around, brought it back to the dealer, and handed him the check. Never regretted it since. :headbang:

first time i really got to ride one was at my grandparents farm...all stock...and i decided to take it down this country paved road....on pavement with a banshee its really something...you can feel the entire powerband because the wheels aren't spinning, so you just feel that hit within it when your taking off down a road....i've ridden 2 stroke dirtbikes all my life before i got on this thing, and nothing else can compare

All I know is that my first ride on a banshee was about 3 years ago and it has been the most expensive 30 seconds of my life. I wrote a check for it and I haven't stopped writing checks for parts, engines, bikes etc. I now have 4 banshees. One for flattrack, one with a ported motor for trails, piped one for trails, and am building a drag bike.
