nickr2184
Assuming a properly jetting banshee, does the choke have much effect at wide open throttle in the last gear?
Banchetta
It should kill the motor or flood it out...
nickr2184
what if it doesn't do anything? Does this mean I need bigger mains?
banshee_kid350
Yeah I would say if it's not killing the mottor that must mean that your to lean better change the mains for bigger ones!!
MotulMonsta
Your puttin the choke on while tapped out in 6th? It should start running like shit. If it runs better with the choke on your lean.
nickr2184
I was recently running 270's before i really started messing with the jetting. When I pulled the choke out it didn't have any effect (choke does work at idle and kills the motor). I now have 300's in and the choke doesn't really have much effect. I have a temp guage on and it doesn't really run overlly hot. I went from 270's to 280's to 290's to 300's. I didn't chop the plugs, but i did run it at wot and looked down at the base of the porclein. I didn't see much color. I don't have any bigger jets ... I guess i better get some bigger ones. whats your thoughts?

locogato11283
im tryin to figure out why youd wanna be WOT in 6th, and then pull the choke
nickr2184
to check the jetting
Yamahammer
It shold die but i think the choke is only good til 1/4 throttle then the hole in the carb gets blocked and it by passes it so no the choke wot affect it.. do a plug chop pinned in 4 or so hold all the gears and make sure it cleaned out and pulls for a while in the gear before you cut the engine and remove the plug.. that is the proper way to check jetting not buy pulling the choke
