I want to get Maxxis Razr II's front and rear with Douglas .190 wheels. Everywhere I've looked seems to be out of the Razrs in 20x11x9 but I did find a place that has the Razrs in 20x11x10. Any ideas on the weight difference between the Douglas 9" wheel and the 10" wheel? Would it be noticeable? I am also concerned about increasing the chances of damaging the wheels. They'll hold up well and with less sidewall flex, they'll grip alot better and slide easier in the turns. I ran a set of 20's on 10's and my rear wheels held up fine..190 douglas' are good rims..Now if you jump alot..they will bend but a ballpeen hammer will fix it right up. 20's on 9's won't work well, you'll have a tall tire with a tall sidewall..mightas well get ballon tires cause that's how it's going to ride. 9 in rims are good on 18 in tires for MX. 20's on 10's are a good combo..plus if you run cross country you can always dump a set of 22's on there for more clearance. But if your running moto-x..I suggest 18's on eather 8's or 9's. 20x10's a great trail and general purpose tire. As far a weight is concered a 20x10 will be lighter then 20x9 as the rubber weighs more then the aluminum. boonman Posted April 22, 2004 Report Share Posted April 22, 2004 I just ordered a set of Holeshot XC tires. 20-11-9 on DOuglas .190's from Moto-man.com Alot cheaper than Razr's. I needed a set for coalfest!!!! Anyways, on the rim thing. The rim and tire combo will be lighter the larger the wheel you go. I would be a little concerned with trashing a set of 10's where I ride, but then again, I don't even run a rear skid. if you want the 9's, hold out for them. if not, get the 10's. I'm running stock gearing on mine right now and it just spins spins spins.. and I have very little clearance and am constantly getting hung up, especially at the top of certain hills Just wondering if anyone's had experience w/ the 22s and how well they work... boonman Posted April 22, 2004 Report Share Posted April 22, 2004 I ran a set of 22" super swampers. They slow the bike down considerably, but man do they hook up. You will gain some clearance, but IMHO I would rather run a skid and grab a tad more throttle to "skip" over your hangin obstacls.....
