adeezy9183
yea i just put on the pro design cool head with interchangeable domes and i put on 15cc and i know that with those domes i'll need to run cam 2 in it and was wondering if i could mix cam 2 w/ 95 octane pump gas. I tried this today and it seemed like it was okay and i was wondering if this was okay or not. thanks
sredish
i'd be running straight with the 15cc domes, no 50/50 shit.
adeezy9183
okay thanks. today i had a leftover jug from my four stroke that i sold not too long ago, and decided to mix it with cam 2. i mixed about half and half. i really can't tell a difference to tell you the truth. maybe a tiny bit but nothing major. i am gonna mix it straight from now on. cam 2 is a little expensive so i might change the domes so i can run pump gas. what kind of gas would i have to run with 22cc domes? Big Blue
depending on where you are at 20 or 21 should be ok.
TerminalVelocity
To both of you asking questions - the type of gas you use will depend on your compression ratio and the type of riding you are doing. If you can answer these 2 questions I'd be happy to help guide you in your octane choice. Terminal Velocity
ronuckles
Which domes would best perform on my banshee its stock internally with the t5 toomey kit, boost bottle, vforce reeds, and a different gearing ratio. I like to drag the hills at the dunes and ride on the trails.
sredish
What domes you run are dependant upon what compression you want to run. You don't just throw in a set and hope it works. You need to know what the outcome you want is. Do you want to run a 50/50 mix or straight, or avoid having to use race fuel altogether. You want to stay at 155 or under to be ok with 92 octane. Here is a Coolhead Dome Chart that will tell you the compression with a given dome based on your elevation. These numbers will vary depending on the amount of wear your machine has on it. Check here and see what your compression would be. Adeezy, if you were at 4,000 or 5,000 feet, a 15cc dome would probably be alright for 50/50 mixture, so I was ahead of myself with the above comments. Check it out and get back if you have more questions. Scott
ronuckles
Well the noss machine chart is a lot different than that one, besides I already run vp 110 straight in it. I get the fuel for practically nothing I live in california which is probably obvious but i need to know which psi would work the best in my combination. I see that you run 15cc I was thinking of running 18cc in mine just to try it out, do you think I might damage anything if i do that. dlnoss
I would hesitate to run 18cc domes at sea level with a stock crank.
ronuckles
which ones should I run via your advise
dlnoss
I will admit that I am a little on the conservative side but at sea level with race gas, I'd run 19cc.
ronuckles
Thank you that answers my question perfectly.
adeezy9183
okay i am right around sea level but give or take a few depending where i go i'd say 1000 above sea level and according to that chart 20cc domes should be right on the money. what kind of gas should i run with the 20's? thanks again
adeezy9183
one more thing. how hard is it to put in a different set of domes. the dealer says only about a half hour. any ideas?
dlnoss
20cc are usually okay with 93 octane at 1000' if the timing isn't advanced and the porting and deck height are stock. It's never a bad idea to check the squish clearance and compression when you install domes.
